YES! So worried! We’re doing a totally outdoor backyard wedding. We didn’t rent a tent. Our rain plan is to move the whole thing inside the house, but people won’t be able to sit or even see the ceremony very well…

We still haven’t sent out our invitations (although we will do it hopefully friday or monday). My fiance still hasn’t dealt with what he or his guys will wear. I have SO much to do…

My main source of stress is the fact that we are DIYing both the cake and our flowers. I think I bit off more than I can chew

Hey Wedding Day buddies! I try not to think about it! It’s so nerve-wracking! Every chance I get I make a deal with god saying stuff like “i won’t eat this cookie if you make sure it doesn’t rain on our day!” DIYing the Invites with a kit, not really done with that yet. Don’t have tuxes yet. The list goes on and on.

But I keep reminding myself that the most important thing is that I always remember what this day is about. It’s not about throwing the party of the year (although it would be nice) it’s not about showing up friends and frienimies (even though that’s awesome too) it’s about the special bond that you will be concecrating with the FI. That helps me keep grounded when thing start to get bonkers!

Good Luck Ladies! And don’t hesitate to message me if you need something! Us 8/27/11 brides need to stick together! Wink

@tall_jenny: see if there are any friends and family you can recruit to help the day before and of. That’s what we’re doing to take the stress off of the DIYing.

My parents have been getting on my case to send out our invitations like, NOW. We have a bunch of out of town guests, so I can see their point. We asked for guests to RSVP by July 30th.

@NREwedding: & @Miss BrokeEverAfter: Thats a really great idea. My FMIL is going to help with the flowers, but I’ll see if there is anyone else who can help us. I hadn’t really thougt about who is going to deal with set up, take down, gifts and all that stuff. I’ll have to gather some “volunteers”

I’m not worried about rain at all! How strange! I am however worried about HEAT! It gets in the upper 90s around that time of year in SoCal. I’m praying the ocean breeze is strong that day!

I am finishing up my invites and mailing them out this week (hopefully before Friday).

Other things I have done are:

Ceremony Venue

Recepton Venue

Dress (dress fitting number two is this wed)

Shower Invites (Shower is june 25th)

Shoes (sorta, finishing blinging them)

Photographer

Groom’s Tux

Groomsman Tux

Bridesmaid dresses ordered

Room block

still to do:

flowers

dj/band and uplighting

favours

menus

table plan

escort cards

drinks/drink card

I KNOW im missing more >.<

@Lilubird: I would way rather worry about heat than rain. Heat is at least a little easier to deal with for an outside wedding. 90 degrees is pretty hot though right? Sounds hot.

Everyone seems to be getting pretty organized. I’m starting to feel like I’m a lot behind.

I have so far done:

  • Ceremony and reception location (same place
  • Catering
  • Photographer
  • Dress
  • Invitations (ordered, not sent yet)
  • Bridesmaid Dresses
  • Flower Girl Dresses
  • Rentals (tables, chairs, dishes etc)
  • Website
  • Honeymoon

Still have to do:

  • Men’s suits
  • shoes, veil, underthings
  • dress fittings (july 16th is my first one)
  • ringbearer outfits
  • favours (I have almost all the stuff, just have to assemble them)
  • Ceremony Music
  • Drinks
  • Table Plan
  • Escort Cards
  • Flowers (DIY – need to find where to get flowers and do a trial)
  • Cake (DIY – need to find a recipe and try it out)
  • Centerpieces
  • Wedding Night Hotel
  • Programs
  • Kids activity books/kits
  • Rehearsal Dinner
  • Guest Book
  • Find hairdresser
  • Attendant gifts
  • Rings!

wow that is a LONG list of things to do……. eep! Better start getting to work on these things!

Anyone else starting to feel overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done? Honestly I’m starting to freak out a little bit. I don’t have much time to get all this done…

Yay for August 27th date twins!  I am starting to feel the heat now that it is coming so close.  I had my bridal shower last weekend and our invites should be going out by the end of the week.  EEK! I am pretty good on my to-do list but feel a little stressed on the few DIY things I took on- i.e. the programs, place cards, etc.  I am a little worried about the heat but will take that any day over rain.  My fiance and I are going away this weekend for our 5-year dating anniversary (it’s a surprise and I am not sure where we are going) so hopefully that will give me a chance to relax and ease the stress a bit!

@NREwedding: I totally agree. I can’t wait to just get this whole wedding thing over with. I’m so stressed out!

We need a support group.

Lets see the pending things are the invites actually in hand so we can assemble and mail out.  Caterer menu is pretty much finalized.  Floral is moving along but not finalized.  Other then that, not a ton I can do more, oh yeah and FI still hasnt looked for his attire yet, haha.  Other then that its DIY projects, a few vendor site visits, and fine tuning details….  So not in too bad of a place.

And I am totally scared of rain… Ugh, please dont do it!!!

My invitations were out yesterday (finally!!) and my RSVP date is July 27th. It’s going to be a small wedding so hopefully everyone can RSVP asap!

I also have tons to do and honestly I have no idea how to actually do it all! 🙁

Here’s what I’ve done

  • Ceremony, reception & food (all in the same place and included)
  • Photographer
  • Dress
  • Invitations
  • Website
  • Honeymoon
  • Hair & make up appoinment
  • Groom’s tux
  • DJ
  • Flowers
  • Cake
  • Veil
  • Drinks

And here’s what I still have to do:

  • Dress fitting (next weekend!)
  • Shoes (I just can’t make up my mind)
  • Ceremony music
  • Table plan
  • Escort cards
  • Centerpieces
  • Programs
  • Favors
  • Children activity books
  • Attendants gifts
  • Wedding rings
  • Room for wedding night

It’s hard planning a long distance wedding 🙁
