Hey ladies! Just thought I'd post a quick two-month check-in for all of us? Where is everyone at in their planning? So far I have....

Bought a dress, alterations appt. set.

Fitted Groom and GMs for suits

    Found/ordered BM dresses

DIYing flowers, ordering bulk yellow roses

Finalized with caterer, he just needs a final head count

    Invitations out, waiting on RSVPs

    Still need...

Officiant (ACK! How did we let this one get past us???)

DJ (he's supposed to call the guy today)

I need shoes, undergarments and jewelry

DIY programs, menu cards, chair sashes, hanging monograms

Is there anything that I'm missing? Where are all my other August '09 brides at?

I'm lucky, my mom is a hairstylist, so we've totally got that covered! Oh, and we do have the photog booked, but not paid for yet. Eeep! Still need to finalize chair/linen rentals, too. Oh, and we haven't found my wedding band yet. Ack! I need a spa day. :(

Our big pending task is invitations! I should get everything back from the print shop on Wednesday, and then it's just a matter of cutting, assembling, sealing and stamping.

After invites, I really have to buckle down on:

-Planning the order of the ceremony. We have our readings and music selected and all the participants lined up, but I don't know how it all fits together.

-Scheduling a hair and make-up trial.

-Planning the rehearsal dinner. We have the restaurant reserved but haven't gotten a headcount or finalized the menu yet. My mom also wants to host a family brunch on the Sunday after the wedding, and we haven't planned any of that.

-Making the escort cards, programs and favors. Picking up miscellaneous decor like the card box and unity candle set.

-Getting my dress altered. I have an appointment this weekend.

-Applying for the marriage license and renewing my passport.

    -Picking a father/daughter dance song.

I'm definitely in panic mode. I think I have cried everyday this week. I feel like there are so many little things I am forgetting about. Relax...just breathe haha. I'm super excited though, so let the countdown begin!!

I feel like such a slacker too!!

My dress is here and waiting for my first fitting on Saturday but I need my under garments.  I am trying to break in my new shoes as I sit here and type.  I have ordered my veil from Etsy - BellaBridalVeils and it's been shipped.

I only have one attendant and she has 2 dresses.

I ordered the material for my Programs, Table Numbers, Escort Cards, Invitations and Envelopes from Papers and More and I also received an email stating they were shipped as well.

For the reception, I have 22 centerpieces ready, as well as 4 wreaths for the 4 doors, a large vinyl cling for the floor with our names and monogram, decor for the bar area, cake topper, knife and server, sand pails [instead of baskets] for the mens and ladies room, guest book, wish pail and 2 small adirondack chairs with votives for the guest to sign as well.

Hair, nail, makeup and spa day wedding appointments are scheduled as well as the rehearsal dinner. We are fortunate that both of our daughters were married in the past 2 years so we know what needs to be done.We could ditto the florist and pastor and the venue was where we met 6 years ago.

I need to finalize the menu, print everything, persuade my groom to select his attire. He bought his shoes and our rings.  I need my weddingday jewelery, finalize the florist order and taste the cake we've already ordered. I am also very fortunate that my photographer is a co-worker as well as my baker, day of wedding co-ordinator and my DIY inspiration girlfriends. Tonight's assignment is invitation wording and undergarments!!  Have fun girls, how much planning do you do for any other party?

I'm with you JayDee. I've been in panic mode for the last week! I feel like I'm going to forget something totally important. Making lists doesn't really help me, because I either lose the list or forget to put something on it! AHHHHHH!!!!!

I have another thread where I've been posting some progress updates, but just want to mention that this is a big help. I've taken notes on things you girls have done or still have to do, trying not to forget anything. (Come visit my 8-9-09 post to read where I am on things.)
