I'm getting married on August 8th! I am so excited!!! Next month I have my tasting at my venue, which has to be one of the most fun parts of wedding planning. That same weekend, I am going to have a dress fitting...maybe not the best timing, but I am really looking forward to seeing my dress again!
How is planning going for the rest of you August brides?
I know, it's so exciting huh?! Planning is going well for us, I just feel like lately we've crossed into the "crunch time" territory and there is so much to do, even though the big stuff is done! It's so exciting though! When is your shower/s ?

Yay for August brides! I'm getting married August 29. I am loving planning my wedding, although lately I can't seem to make any decisions for the life of me. Last week I hit that point where I all of a sudden felt like, omg, I still have SO MANY things to plan...favors, shoes, earrings, gifts, etc. All of my big stuff is taken care of, but I have been absolutely obsessing over a million tiny details lately. It's driving me crazy! I have two showers planned, one on June 20 and the other on July 18. Are any of you worried about being too hot in your dress on your day? Both our ceremony and reception are indoors, so they will be air conditioned, but I'm worried I'm going to melt with the heat!

August 15th! We can't wait! We're from Canada, so, although it can be hotter here during the summer, being hot in my dress shouldn't be much of a problem - I hope. Where is everyone honeymooning?
@ lallison- I am right there with you! I am starting to get so worried about getting all the little things done! Programs, escort cards, table numbers, favors, transport, an on an on! Even though things are all booked it still feels like there is so much to DO! Also, I am DEFINITELY worried about the hot weather. I'm so scared of like passing out or something from the heat. I am also worried about pitting out, haha. I need to get some of that prescription deodorant, will you guys be using that?
@luckylee- We are honeymooning in St. Lucia! I'm nervous about the Carribean in late August but my fiance says not to! Ahh! We have insurance if we have to change/postpone it but STILL! Where is everyone else honeymooning? Any others going to St. Lucia??

August 8th for us! I am really getting excited as the day approaches. We still have plenty to do -- need to find a cake, florist, get my dress altered, get the guys' outfits figured out . . . and of course, shoes! :)
I feel like we're all in the same boat sailing towards August...all the big stuff is knocked out, and now thinking about ALL the details, there's SO MUCH!!
...time lines, songs, accessories, fonts, showers, bridal party gifts, parent gifts, honey moon details...
I sort of am getting to the point that I just want to be married already... :)

man - we definitely have to take care of the little stuff...but I am putting it off just a couple more weeks.
So what are you guys going to do about the heat anyway? That's been a worry of mine since we chose the date (Aug. 1)! I'd love to take outdoor pictures, especially since there are beautiful lakes and gardens, but I can't stand the idea of getting super sweaty (and/or smelly) before the reception. Are you guys doing outdoor pictures? Are you just planning to redo your makeup before the reception?
My aunt is convinced she will follow me around that day with ice cubes to put down my dress. Gee, thanks. :-)

I'm nervous about my makeup melting, too...I am planning to do outdoor photos, but I will have the chance to re-do my makeup before our reception. I can handle the heat though - I just hope it doesn't rain! I love outdoor photos!
My shower is on June 6th, and my bachelorette party is on July 25th (which is also my birthday). I love bridal showers and I can't wait for mine! I'm not sure what the plans are for either of the parties - do you know the details of yours, or are you going to be surprised?
I am going to Mexico for my honeymoon. Hopefully the swine flu subsides by then!
August 8th brides...this coming Thursday (4/30) is 100 days until our weddings!!

8/15! I have all the same concers re: my sanity and the heat. And oh my - I've got a lot of dress to haul around (cathedral chain.) Most of the wedding is indoors though - yea for ac!
oooh - my first shower is coming up, too. May 30th. When are you guys sending out invitations anyway? I think we want ours out by the end of the last week of May because we have a RSVP date of July 4th.
ehh5000- i don't really know much about the bach party - i've heard a few ideas.
Yeah...rain is an issue too. HA - at least it will cool things down...but that presents another problem. We have a 2 room church basically. So we'll be exiting from the back of the church, walking past all the windows (while outdoors) and entering the back of the church to walk down the aisle. Could get interesting if it rains. Oh well - cute umbrellas, right?

I hope it doesn't rain either but I'm even more nervous about the horrible heat that is possible! I wouldnt mind evening, late summer rain- in fact, I kind of like that - and it'd be fine since we'll be inside. I just don't want to melt/sweat/etc!
We're doing 8 weeks on invites, so sending out June 26 or whatever that last weekend is. I do know a decent amount about my bachelorette party b/c my BM that planned it has kept me informed, asking what i want, etc. That's July 11. I'm having 2 showers, one on June 28th and one on July 11th. i can't wait for all of this! But I don't want it to come and then be all over!
August 7th! An early evening wedding and hopefully a little less hot...And let's not even mention the possibility of rain...
