So i may be ahead being in a differant country but today is exactly
6 months to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im stoked that the day is coming up, a little stressed sometimes on a few things.
I.e fit into my dress still in six months, all my DIY projects will be done.
But I also want the time to fly right by, as I cant wait to become my FH's wifey :D
p.s also.. I cant tell if this brides happy or stressed? I think im feeling a little bit of both!

@ccrane - I totally agree. I want it to go fast, but I'm kinda stressed! Right now I'm just wishing things happen by magic, because actually doing things is not going very well. :)
Nothings wrong, just life getting in the way of wedding planning. I teach HS, coach HS soccer, and also teach a college class at night on Wednesdays. I'm also trying to find someone to rent my apartment so that I can afford a nicer honeymoon : ) and moved out of there this weekend. Just busy!!
I also feel that the 6 month point is kind of vague...nothing is in emergency necessity state yet, but we do need to book some important things like dj/band.
At least I didn't lose my engagement ring!! What's going on with that?
we found it with a metal detector... 4hrs after dad searching the ground and it was in the last 30mtrs. What a relief!
so true about emergency status. I wonder when emergency status kicks in, is that 4 months to go?
It's coming so quickly! I think my emergency status will kick in somewhere between 3 and 4 months....keeping my fingers crossed that I won't have too much left to do by then!
I'm so excited ladies! Isn't it great that Valentine's day will always be our half-versary! That's what my Mr and I call it. And it happen's to be our pup's birthday too. The only things we have left to do are pick out the boys' tuxedos, get our liquor license, and attend our pre-martial counseling required by the church.
Valentine's Day is the day we started dating & got engaged. We were hoping to get married last sunday but we couldn't because of parents. I decided that 6 months after would be good, so it's our 6 months!
I know! I woke up this morning and realized that in five months I'll be married to the love of my life! Everything is starting to seem "real" now.
things are that crazy, I realise that this is where we have to pay more money towards things from now on.. before its been like got that organised, pay this.. or we will pay that next week , now its like.. gotta pay that now!
I'm both stoked and scared. I've put wedding planning on the back-burner while I finish school (until mid May). Between school and work my time is totally eaten up! I'll be playing catch-up those last couple months!
My monster of a FMIL is nagging on me to help her plan the rehearsal dinner. I wish we didn't have to have it on FRIDAY THE 13th! It's probably going to be bad.
(But he proposed on Friday the 13th, so it still makes me happy)
ahh! Ican't believe it's 5 months now! We have to start buying stuff soon, like you were saying! We actually have to do it, not say, let's wait til next week and never do it.
I am a Aug 14 bride to be too. 5 month is going to FLY by! I have 7 bridesmaids, 2 live in different cities and one lives in Japan. What was I thinking? Oh well, everything will work out just fine! DEEP BREATHS
Hi everyone! I am August 14th too! We are eloping/having a destination wedding in Thailand.
We are having a big at home reception in October. Everything is done for both, except my dress! I can't decide.

I am Aug 14th too! time is going by so quickly.. I still have tons of little things to do, and it doesn't help when my friend tells me I have 4 months, because we are end of march and the first 2 weeks in august don't count! lol
4 month mark? Yeeh goodness.. I have so much to do still.
However I did book lighting this week, and Im working on invitation envelopes. I still need to find a DJ.
:S
I'm now officially august 14th, and got engaged on Friday!! I have SO much to do!!!
I didn't realize you guys were out there
I still have the major things like photography, dj, officiant, and dress alterations to do...what is on everyone's outstanding list?
Well, we're still working out the menu. August 14th in Charleston, SC is going to be hot, muggy, and humid! Thank god our ceremony and reception are inside! Even still, my FI and I are trying to think of ways to keep our guests cool, like serving fresh local fruit at the cocktail hour (along with many ice cold beverages). We even serving a cold soup at the reception - what an idea! We're trying to keep everyone as cool as possible, but I can't make any promises once the band starts playing :)
What are the rest of you bees doing to make sure your guests stay cool on our hot August 14th wedding days??
lsaunde - I'm getting married in Myrtle Beach and my wedding ceremony program is going to be a paddle fan plus we're by the beach so I'm hoping there will be a breeze come 6pm. We are also hoping to keep the ceremony down to 30 min or less so that everyone can get into the AC.
Jaydee - great idea! I've seen people use faux sweetgrass material as the backing of programs to give the paddles a southern feel without breaking the bank. Great idea!
I now have venue, church and caterer booked, and bridesmaid dresses bought, so am catching up with you ladies pronto!! Best of all... I go DRESS SHOPPING today!! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee SO excited!
I am so glad you started this thread! I can't believe we're at 4 1/2 months.. yikes! We got engaged at Christmas, so it felt like we had eons of time. Things are getting so real! Here's an accomplished list, just to make me feel better:
-dress purchased. No fitting needed.
-suit ordered
-venue, photog, alcohol, caterer booked
-STD's mailed
-honeymoon booked
-favors in the works
-some decorations purchased, not all put together
-officiants booked
SO much still to do.... programs, menus, invitations, finish favors, figure out how we want the ceremony to go, etc. Where is everyone else on their to do list?
I am definitely behind-I am just ordering my dress today! Since we are eloping and doing a wedding -moon, the rest of it was easy to plan. Our at-home reception isn't until October.
Ok still do to
thats about it at this stage, Im sure of other stuff, at least reception venue is all taken care of the caterer is ready to go and so is the drink tab.
I am a August 14th bride too! August because that is the month of my grandparent's wedding, and the 14th because that was the very day we got together over 2 years ago, and now we are getting married! It really is the perfect date!
I've been pretty relaxed, but I noticed in these last couple of weeks I've been so stressed! I've been SO busy with work that the time flies on by sometimes. Then I look at the calendar and think..WHAT? My only day off is Tuesday, I've got to order the cake then on that day. I have no other choice! haha
At other times, however, it feels like the closer it gets...the longer it seems. Just because I love my fiance so much, I can't stand another day without being his Mrs.
It depends on the day. My friends keep telling me I'll be married before I know it. I've still got ALOT to do.
These are the things I've done:
-Purchased my dress (which is a HUGE accomplishment for me because I was so freaking indecisive) and garter
-Purchased my tiara (no veil as of yet....as I said, I'm indecisive)
-Did Bridal registry (one more to go)
-Purchased Invitations
-Made Cake appointment, and purchased cake
-Gathered 1/2 of our guest's addressed
-Reserved our wedding date at the church.
-Purchased about 1/4 of the decorations, guest book (and pen)
Still need to do
-Purchase Groom/Groomsmen Tuxes!
-Bridesmaid dresses! and find another bridesmaid!!!!! I fired one! ha (actually it wasn't that funny) ....grumble.
-Order flowers (but I was told to wait until a couple of months to do that)
-Order table linens and chair cover (in the process of choosing between companies)
-etc etc etc.... I stopped writing this early... Its reminding me of the work ahead... looming there to be completed.
Its not all bad though! Wedding planning can be fun! (liquor required) jk
Congrats all August 14th brides!
I'm an 8/14 bride too. Time has been FLYING by. A lot to do, but a lot has already been done too. It will all get there... :) Way to choose a great dates, ladies!
And ccrane? That pic is HILARIOUS! Perfect mix of happy and stressed!
I am sending out my invites next month- just because I never did "save the date's" and some family members who live in different states need to know in advance- but not too soon so everyone loses the invite or something. lol

I am sending mine end of May- can't believe it is in just over 4 months! Things are starting to get crazy.
I'm August 14 too! Way behind though...we decided on a short engagement and just want to get it done this summer! :)
We have booked the venue and caterer. I have my dress and he has his tux. We have our officiant. We sent out save the dates. Not much beyond that though. We are researching photographers and everything else.
ah, it will all get done though!
