i dont have mine yet and i am frantically searching for one.. just wondering where everyone else is at this point.. if you have yours, post it!
No not got mine. I've been to about 6 shops and tried loads on, but haven't found the one. I am in London next week and have an appointment to try on the new 2010 Pronovias collection. My ideas of what I want changes all the time though!
I've looked at some but haven't found anything for sure yet. My mom is coming to visit this weekend, though, and I'm really going to try and reach a decision this weekend if possible. I want to get moving on this. ^_^
It's nervewracking, though--one of the bridal stores here in Omaha did the whole we-'re-bankrupt-and-moving-out-of-our-store-in-the-middle-of-the-night-what-do-you-mean-you-ordered-a-dress thing to a bunch of brides about 2 weeks ago. So I'm nervous about the whole business now. Ugh.
I've bought mine. I would have waited but I thought it was a one time sale of $300 off-I've since seen it a few times. It just came in over the weekend-so I have to store it for about 11months! It's nice not having to worry about it & paying for it anymore though. Don't worry though.
I saw the Elie Saab 2010 Collection for Pronovia the other day and I'm drooling. They are so beautiful!! I love Freya.

ETA: Ugh. Wouldn't you know that there is a trunk show for the 2010 Collection from the runway show in NYC on 9/19. If course I won't be home when there's a trunk show or sample sale that I want. 
i just had an amazing breakthrough. i was looking for that specific dress and low and behold someone came thru! she only lives two hours away and shes the same height as me! i got sooo lucky, maybe it was some thing to do with me starting this thread! lol
I found mine on my first time out with my mom and sister; I got lucky. But now the fun searching part is over! There's still time... no worries!

I found mine on my first try but I think I just got lucky. I had anticipated going a few more places and probably not getting it until the fall but it was THE ONE. They really know what they are doing at Kleinfeld, let me tell ya'

I bought mine a few months ago! The bummer is that I only ever went dress shopping once and it was WAY over my budget. I bought my dress online at preownedweddingdresses I got an AMAAZING deal, but need to get it fitted for me. I am excited, but think that until it fits me perfectly I can't really feel the excitement. I do love the dress though!
this is the dress i picked. Its a Davids Bridal 9t9642. i dont have a picture uploaded of me in it yet, but it felt amazing when i tried it on in the store!
I bought mine a few months ago after going to 6 bridal stores. I knew it was the one as soon as i put it on (it's the Amsale Tyler in ivory/ivory) and the floor model fit so well I bought that one which saved some money. The store is storing it for me until I need to come get it hemmed. I was so happy to find the one when I did since my wedding is in Massachusetts but I recently moved to California and I was able to find the dress back on the east coast before coming out here! Good luck to all you still looking! It's a fun process as long as you go in with an open mind!

bought mine through a shop that was closing....couldn't resist the deal even though it seemed too far ahead....hehehe :P
I found my dress last weekend and ordered it. I haven't taken the time to download the pictures of me wearing the dress yet, but here is the dress. It's a Paloma Blanca.
I ordered mine in August - it was a special order so they said 6-8 months to come in, plus it was on sale. I think you have a few more months before you have to really start worrying!

:( you guys are so lucky! i want mine now! lol. ive looked, and only looked, in two stores so far, and the dresses in both were hideous! but next im going to a place called patrice bridal, then davids bridal. i found one on davids bridals website that i fell in love with, but its not there anymore. im going for flowy, very simple(no beads or sequins or junk), and pretty. no straps. its so frustrating that my dress might be gone. and it was on the $99 dress sale too! maybe thats why its gone...
I went to Alfred Angelo (www.alfredangelo.com) they have tons of styles & price ranges-I know they have a recessionista line of lower priced dresses. I LOVE what they have!

Early latest is probably January-because some dresses can take up to 3 months to get in (depending on where & what line) & then alteration time on top of that. Latest latest would probably be March/April--&that might be too late. I guess it depends on the store-but at Alfred Angelo someone came in looking for a dress for this October.

Not at all. I've tried on a couple dresses...but really need to do more of that. I want something non-traditional that's really flattering and comfortable, in a breatheable fabric (it is August in NYC)....I have some ideas, just have to get a move on.
Thanks, Pmerr. December/January is probably a good timeline. Will keep me in check and make sure I'm working hard for this weight loss!
I haven't gotten mine yet either. I'm a little stressed about it, but I'm still trying to decide on a venue, so I don't want to pick my dress until after I know about my venue... lots of stress going on in my household right now. It's also hard since I'm in DC, my Mom is in MI & my sister (my MOH) lives in ATL & it's been really hard to get us all together to look for dresses. Those who have found dresses, did you shop with friends? family? or by yourself?
My mom will be coming out in a few weeks to look at my top pick...Hopefully the sample will fit better since I've lost about 10 lbs since I tried it on last 
And it will be in white instead of champagne.

I havent got a dress either.I wanna wear a Red Gown( its me!) ...in particular a Maggie Sottero Fiorenza. They are expensive though so Im watching my budget. Anyone out there know anyone sellling a pre owned Red Maggie Fiorenza...im a size 4.
thats awesome. i really thought hard about going for a colored dress too... but i asked FI what he thought and he was definitely NOT down. i will probably do a colored crinoline so i can have something bright !!
I just joined the August troupe from September. I've had my dress since May since I stumbled upon it at a sample sale and snatched it up!
I've got mine! I got it on my 2nd trip to Kleinfeld at a great deal!!! I love it!

I haven't even looked! Is that really bad? I setup a timeline for myself to lose a bit of weight (like 10lbs) before trying any on. I figured December.. Am i being ridiculous?
Ms. Brew you're not being ridiculous. I was in your boat and I haven't had much success. I couldn't resist shopping for wedding dresses though, its too much fun and I found mine already. Its Paigely by Maggie Sottero, I'm in love with it.
i haven't tried any on yet, just been window shopping! i'm going to try on the end of october.

I just got mine yesterday!! It's a BCBGMAXAZRIA dress. We're having a more casual outdoor wedding so I didn't want to go super poofy. Here it is in action on a real bride:

I tried on lots of dresses, did tons of research online and finally decided I wanted a once wed Monique Lhuillier. I would settle for no less. Then, while browsing ebay Lhuilliers, I came across a tag: Lining 40% Polyester! Bologna!
I was fine with paying a lot for a quality dress, but I refuse to pay an exorbitant amount for synthetics.
So I'm getting exactly what I want handmade from a really neat little independent shop in Portland! Can't *wait* to try it on!
