- Started on wedding website, doing pretty good..
- Centrepieces chosen, have a good idea for decor ideas what I want.. Just have to coordinate with my decorator and soon to be florist.
- Bridal party is chosen, think the MOH is thinking of ideas for the bachelorette party..
- Florist - in the middle of interviewing now, hopefully make a decision in a week or two.
- Videographer - I know which person I want to use (family friend) but I just haven't gotten around to meeting with them yet..
- Just started trying on wedding dresses a couple days ago but that will be a while I'm not rushing into it.. But my first time shopping was quite good though!
- Have an idea of STDs I want to use, I have to fully decide if I will use a template off the internet or have someone help custom make my own to personalize it a bit more.. (Since I have no photoshopping skills at all). Have a good idea for invitations as well (DIY pocketfolds) but haven't designed them yet, just have inspiration pictures..
- Been talking with the bridesmaids about dresses and getting their opinions of what they like.. But its proven to be difficult to find a style they all like.. They won't be trying them on until the fall.
I think that's it? haha I've been busy.

When do you all plan on taking your engagement photos if any?? Like I dont want to have fall or winter photos b/c the wedding is in the peak of summer....but I also dont want to wait till March/April spring time b/c IDK if we'll have enough time to get our websites out, save the dates, etc?
We celebrated our -1 anniversary on the 3rd! :)
I'm usually an awful procrastinator so I'm pleasantly surprised we have the big ticket items booked without any fuss:
- Ceremony and officiant
- Chose processional song - I got all teary-eyed listening to it!
- Reception (separate place from the ceremony, but close enough yay), + menu
- DJ (which I totally overpaid out of ignorance, working on the guilty feeling)
- Photographer, still debating on getting a cinematographer
- Dress bought, but not available til maybe next year? Hoping not to get dress regret as I'm fickle by nature. So far, I still remember my "moment" when I tried it on
* Originally wanted my girls to wear whatever BM dress they want, just that it would be the same color and similar length (BM dresses will be short while MOH is long)
- Pretty sure about the bridal party + flower girls (one is still learning how to walk as of a couple months ago haha) + ring bearers, just need a backbone to gently turn down people's assumptions that they are in the bridal party
- Color/s: Ocean blue/Malibu blue/New Tourquoise, or as I say it, Santorini blue + something neutral, don't care much, whatever is more budget friendly or is already available at the venue
- One of my BMs used to work at a florist's shop, I now have solid ideas on how I want the bouquets to look like - thinking if we should go ahead and do our own flowers or let the professionals deal with it
- Also wanting to DIY the cake; had a bakefest one evening with my ladies (after the wine started flowing, our productivity lessened considerably)
- Started getting stuff for the candy buffet table (I did a poll and everyone is excited for it)
Not doing STDs, it'll just be word of mouth - not that I need to inform people anyway because they're all up in my business to begin with (haha lots of people are excited for our wedding, and I take that as a compliment because most of them are offering to help out in any way. How lucky are we?)
Taking a break, because I started to get stressed thinking about decorations. Thinking of maybe asking a co-worker/friend who offered her interior design skills. Also, stressing out about costs.
I'm impressed by you fellow August bees :D So organized!
@HisWifey2012:I was thinking of doing ours over the Canadian thanksgiving (oct 9th weekend I believe). Now I might wait until Easter. Our photographer is based 6 hours away from us so we have to do it on weekends that we are visiting!
I now have to add finding a venue on my list of things to do :(
But I am trying to get ahold of our photog and find a time that would work best for both of us and then we will be doing our engagement pictures!
Yay now I booked my florist and videographer.. :) Two more things crossed off my list. I have been trying on wedding dresses (a lot) and haven't had any luck yet.. But we are getting close so I hope to find "the one" soon! I'm just so damn picky haha. Also I realized I don't have enough room for live ceremony musicians so I have to tell my DJ to come earlier and cover my ceremony music too.
I will probably look at ordering STDs soon (ordered a sample I liked, see what DF thinks). Then maybe looking around at hairstylists? Bridesmaids aren't going to try on dresses yet, maybe in a month or so. (We have been brainstorming for a while now and posting pictures on facebook we like but it totally changes once you see it on them).
I've been slacking so I am trying to kick myself in the butt again.. Since Wedding Wire has been telling me I have overdue tasks lol..
I've booked my venue (ceremony/reception in one place). They take care of catering, cake, and DJ. I've also booked a photographer, and I'm now starting to look into options for floral, and I'm going to start looking at dresses next month. Also going to start cracking down on invitations over the next few months so I can order them by February.
After reading this thread I feel somewhat behind! Here is our progress:
Photographer: Booked
DJ: Booked
Dress: Ordered, won't be in until March
Venue/Ceremony site: Booked
Officiant: Not booked yet, but we know who he will be (One of our djs is also an officiant)
Cake: Booked
Florist: Haven't really thought about it. We need to get on that!
Invitations: Bought a sample set to try DIYing it, and have yet to make our attempt. Invites are going to be a fall/winter project.
DIYs: Have yet to begin.
Bridal Party: I still have two bridesmaids to ask.
I'm sure I'm missing lots. Ugh... so much to do!
-Photographer booked.
-Venue (for ceremony & reception) booked. Also, caterer is included with the venue.
-Officiant booked.
-Dress ordered back in April, should be here anyday now!
-DJ booked.
-STD's ordered a few months ago, sending those out in January
-Guest list finalized (I hope)
-Colors picked out
-Cake is not booked yet, but we're going to a cake testing next month
-Bridal party has been chosen
Next up: Pick out bridesmaids dresses, get everyone's addresses (ugh), order my veil, book a florist.... super stressed because I feel like I haven't done anything wedding-related lately. I'm trying to concentrate on nursing school so wedding stuff has really gone on the back burner...
We just confirmed our officiant a couple days ago. I'm really happy because it's a family friend, and when we asked him he seemed super thrilled that we wanted him to do it. :-)
Ooh let me play, I'm feeling pleased with myself and starting to chill out after being a stress-mobile for the last six months as we agonised over picking a date.
Ceremony/reception venue - booked, paid 30% deposit
Dress - bought and safe at home, needs alterations
Shoes - bought on Sat from the bay, can't wait for them to arrive!
BM dresses - bought, I hope they fit...
DIY brooch bouquet - a mass of broochs collected, almost ready to start putting together
Favours - Oxfam unwrapped. These are awesome, and fit our colour scheme haha
Sooooo much more to do: photographer, DJ, hair/make-up, florist, decorator.........
