Omg it’s July!!!!  so close…

In June with made great progress on our bridal party gifts and got everyone’s clothes ordered/purchased/etc (at this point, it’s on the guys to buy the shirts we told them to).  Also finished our table number holders (but may need to redo the actual table numbers).

For July we need to make thank you cards (have gotten a few gifts from those who RSVP’d no, also had a bridal shower) or maybe just buy them; I’m worried about the time factor, finish some of the projects from June, create menus and programs, need gifts for our parents, need to figure out details and possible make invitations for the rehearsal dinner, connect with vendors if necessary (not sure if I initiate or they do though?).  The Thank You cards are my biggest concern.

Oh goodness. We are at 40 days now.

I did lots of stuff in June. Finalized food and pie orders, first fitting, sent out invites, got some rsvps back, made preliminary seating chart, got favors done, ordered gifts and stuff for bridal party, organized rehearsal party and morning after brunch, finalized  playlists and mc stuff with the dj, figured out details with DOC, finalized floral order, bought rings.

I still need to do a buttload of other stuff. Second fitting, bringing all of the vases and stuff to NYC to give to my florist, make table numbers, buy and make escort cards, finalize bar information, figure out what to do for rehearsal dinner dress, get more gifts, finalize ceremony, and one million other things.

I really can’t believe it’s July already! Time is definitely going by quickly!!

So in June we were pretty productive:

  • Purchased welcome bag and bathroom basket supplies
  • Also bought the stuff we will need to pack for our HM
  • FI put together the easel and made our gorgeous card box
  • Printed and cut menus and day of schedules
  • Re worked the rehearsal dinner because our guest list keeps growing
  • Had slight freak out moment because of Rehearsal Dinner
  • Packed up some wedding stuff to bring to our vacation house which is closer to venue
  • Had first dance lesson

  • Don’t freak out
  • Figure out last few guests
  • Work on tables
  • Print escort cards
  • Submit head counts
  • Pay final payments to photographer, venue, and cake lady
  • Finalize music and meet with DJ
  • Finish cake base (adding moss)
  • Tie tags onto favors
  • Practice writing or find someone to write bar menu on chalkboard
  • Glue wedding programs onto fan stick (my wonderful mother has offered to do this!)
  • Keep practicing our first dance
  • Eat Better, Exercise, Whiten Teeth, and Tan
  • And most importantly get our marriage license

I should add in: help FMIL find a dress, which is apparently impossible. She hates EVERYTHING. And FI doesn’t see a problem with the fact that she wants to rewear the dress that she wore ten years ago to her other son’s wedding. a) It’s ugly, and b) it’s white.

@TaurianDoll:  I’ve tried. We go to lunch with her literally every Saturday. I have spent hours finding dresses online, gone by myself to look and sent her a million pictures, and offered to go with her to look. She. hates. everything. She’s like, “Well, I’m going up north this weekend, I’ll look up there.” Except that the store she’s going to carries the EXACT same things that Macy’s does. Everything I’ve picked out would look amazing on her, but if it looks like it would be lower than her clavicle, she immediately dismisses it as “too low cut.” She wants a long dress. I show her some gorgeous dresses at David’s Bridal. Nope, she doesn’t like the keyhole neck or the modest side slit. No strapless. Half the stuff I send her is “too young” (meaning it’s not something that my grandmother would wear–FMIL is 55 and a rocking size 6, but she sees her self as an old plus-size woman wtfff). The only short dress she’s liked so far has been WHITE.

I have already tried FIVE TIMES to get her to go to David’s Bridal, Macy’s, etc. with me after lunch on Saturday, and the answer is always no. I don’t get it.
