@jocember: The ceremony garden looks gorgeous, hope it lives up to expectations when you visit again. And at least we have a board, even if it is fairly quiet right now.
We're August 3, 2013, since it's close to our relationship anniversary. Nothing booked yet, though not for lack of trying; we've visited eight venues so far, but haven't loved any of them. Finding somewhere in a resort area that's not a hotel is frustrating when most of the private venues are booked 18 months or more in advance...
We've since found a couple of other places to look at, I'm just so excited to see places! This place is now also competing for the top of my list.
August 3 is actually my FI's birthday, hehe. Great date! Egads, 18 months or more? I hope you can find something! Where are you planning to tie the knot?

We're getting married in Virginia Beach, Virginia. And complicating matters, I'm currently working three jobs...which rather limits the amount of time that can be dedicated to wedding planning; I've got roughly 83 usable days out of the next 600. I'll admit I've been delegating much of the footwork to my FI... He's been good about it, though I do have to leave very specific instructions sometimes...
Hey! I didn't notice this thread till now! I am also having my wedding on August 17th, 2013. We are having our wedding at Lily Lake in Saint John, New Brunswick. I also really wanted a outside wedding, but I think it would be just too much to worry about with the weather, and I can't really think of anywhere around here to have it outside.
I am a young bride ( I am currently 19) and my parents thought that getting married at 19 or 20 was too young, so we settled at 21 since my birthday is August 6th.
I am pretty sure I already mentioned when I was talking to you through PM, but I already booked : the venue, photographer, DJ and we even picked out meal choices since the prices are going up in January, and if we booked now our price would already be set.
OH! and I already got my dress, I know it sounds crazy lol.. but we went out just looking for fun, and I ended up falling in love with one, and it went on sale so I had to buy it!

@alyssa742: Lily Lake is gorgeous. Weather is definitely an issue for outside weddings, and in some areas just so unpredictable; I'd rather not have the worry either.
I haven't booked anything yet, though I think we may have finally found our venue. We visited The Renaissance Room today, and the event manager is putting together a proposal for us. I fell in love with their Venetian Garden Room the moment I saw it! I'll be posting some of the pics from our trip to my blog later on.
I have a few contenders for the dress as well, but I'm not ready to buy quite yet...
@cajungirl81: Yeah, I think we may save the first venue as our "backup" in case we can't get this one. I hope you can get yours all worked out! Virginia Beach is lovely area, I went there once as a kid on vacation.

Our initial proposal from TRR came back just under budget; we're in negotiations now to see what discounts/freebies we can finagle and hope to have an offical contract in early January. Keep your fingers crossed...

:)August 17 yay! Although our date is subject to change because we're both in the military.
We're getting married in Illinois. We haven't booked anything yet, because our date isn't 100% set in stone. We might end up getting married in December 2012 or January 2013. I'm set on August though because that's when our anniversary is right now, haha. We'll see!
I have found a dress already though! It's still so early but I love it.
@AubByAub: Yay, temporary date twins! We may actually be changing ours - both venues we currently favor offer steep discounts for Friday weddings, and we are contemplating a switch to August 9 if so (I insist on an odd number for the date, lol).
I'd love to see pictures of your dress!!! I'm so antsy for one, and yet not. I'm terrified of buying too early but at the same time it'd be sooooo nice to get it over with hehe.
Hi! I'm an August (probably) 2013 bride too! We live in Washington but are getting married in Cleveland, Ohio. We haven't booked a venue yet but I've been doing lots of research online and may have our parents go scope some places out for us! I'm so excited to be planning and having plenty of time! Looking forward to the countdown with you ladies!
It's official: we signed our venue contract today! That's one less thing for me to have to worry about now...

Another August 17th bride here! YAY I have a whole bunch of stuff worked out because I was going to be getting married this august but the date got pushed back :(
I'm an August 31st, 2013 bride.
Were going to look at our first choice venue in person on the 13th. Wedding will be in the Branson/Springfield/Ozarks MO area; and we will separate reception in his hometown outside of Chicago.
I'm so excited :)
August 23rd 2013 is our provisional date. as long as we can get our venue and our home church is available. I am breaking with tradition and getting married on a Friday as I think it gives people the weekend to recover as well as being slightly cheaper.
Feels odd announcing our date pre-engagement. He has asked me and I have said yes we have picked a ring, (even though I want to change it) As yet we have not exchanged rings it feels odd planning.
Bridal party (excl family) is still open, bit nrervous to make final decisions, I have started looking at dresses and venues. caterer is sorted (but my mum and stepdad have a catering business, so a bit of a cheat) my evening food is currently up for debate as I'd like to have some food from our favourite restaurants as a couple.
Decor and theme almost sorted. still lots of detail to sort out, but I am glad for the 18 months I have to plan, especially with a budget.
What I am finding hard is not having a ring, even when saying it people seem to act as if that it is pie in the sky, even though for us it is a done deal. :( otherwise the response has been positive from family and friends.
Our date is confirmed!! August 10th. We ended up booking with a different venue, but I'm so excited to have the date and venue set. Any other August 10, 2013 brides?
Yay! August 2013 brides... I just got engaged November 2011, so next summer is going to be perfect! I can't wait... for now, I'm enjoying all the wedding blogs, sites, and shows! We picked August because it's my future father-in-law's middle name and "8" represents infinity! Not to mention the warm weather that's perfect for a California Beach wedding... Congrats to you all!

Were getting married in NJ, but we don't have an exact date yet. Were still debating if we want to spend the extra money to get married on a saturday.
Hi bees! Right now my fiancé and I are considering August 10th, 2013! I am in graduate school so it's a date that I know will not interfere with my classes. We will be married in either North Carolina (where we will be moving this summer) or Georgia (my hometown) and I can't wait to start looking for venues!
Right now it is looking like August 18, 2013 in Radnor, PA. It's so exciting, but doesn't August 2013 seem so far away?!

@chocolatecoveredstrawberry: we are also getting married Aug 18, 2013! And not too far from you either (wilmington, DE). Our hotel offered a 10% (!) discount for a Sunday reception. I'm long distance planning, so we looked for an all-inlusive type location. In the end, our package includes wedding cake, open bar, linens, floral centerpieces (which we are substituting for extra apps and champagne toast, and then we are dropping the champagne for wine service during dinner), wedding coordinator, AND it includes all gratuities and service charges.
FI and I are penciling in August 3rd in Ashford, WA!
He went and toured the lodging/reception facility last friday and it sounds perfect; I won't be able to visit for another month or so, but I trust his judgment (and he took tons of photos).
Wedding ceremony will likely be in Mt. Rainier National Park overlooking Reflections Lake (think huge mountain, mountain reflection, and fields of wildflowers) and then the reception/lodging is a lodge just outside the park entrance with several cabins and sleeping space for 70. We're going to reserve it for 5 nights so guests can make a family vacation out of it; music, bonfires, camping, field day games, and BBQs will fill the days and nights!

I'm excited to see so many August 17thers! We chose 8/17/2013 because it is the 6 year anniversary of our first date. We are also having it at the location of our first date, Brookfield Zoo in the Chicago suburbs! I have been trying to keep it hush hush from friends until it is finalized; we are trying to get our guest list down for a certain reception area and until then can't put down a deposit >_<!
I have a when and where! We're getting married August 17th and having the reception at the Manor in West Orange :)

Its definitely not the barn/farm/garden outdoor area with lots of trees and grass and gorgeousness I dreamed of, but its near impossible to do an outdoor wedding in Springfield, MO, at the end of August without dying from the humidity and heat. Plus the caterer we wanted is right by this ballroom, it was a fantastic price, everyone loved it, and its a blank slate where we can do anything. I think its perfect for us (even if it doesn't completely match our theme).
Hi Aug Bees! My dates are rough estimates right now ... we are having 2 weddings...a civil ceremony in Canton, Ohio, and a religious ceremony on the island in Greece where my FI is from. Coordinating everyone's schedules in Ohio and in Greece is hard, and then we have to negotiate religious holidays in Greece during August. So right now we're thinking end of July here and beginning of August in Greece! We found a reception site in Canton, but we want an outdoor ceremony, and the gazebo we had our hearts set on will be undergoing renovations during our proposed wedding time! :( Still in search of that great outdoor setting though! It might be tricky to find one that will allow you to do it without having the reception there too. Our reception hall is gorgeous, but the surrounding area is near traffic and not a lot of green space.
The wedding in Greece will take place at a traditional small monistary (the kind you always see in those pictures of greece with the blue dome and whitewashed walls). It is on a cliff overlooking the sea and a small fishing village. Gorgeous! FI wanted this particular location because that is where he was baptised as a baby---love that connection :)
I have already purchased my wedding dress and anxiously awaiting it to be shipped to the salon. Ordered it in February and they promised it by July----thinking that is quite long time to get it (maybe just because I'm excited to try it on again), but I dont mind if they take their time as long as they put love into it!

Hi, ladies! Our wedding is August 23rd, 2013. We were originally doing the 24th, but our reception venue's minimum is half of what they want for Saturdays. We don't have a ceremony venue yet (I have my eye on one, but we can't book it until this August), but our reception is at Loft310 in Kalamazoo, Michigan: http://loft310.com
We've booked our photographer and the reception venue (it's all-inclusive except for the cake!), and I have my dress (although, to be honest, I'm second guessing, which sucks because FMIL paid for it). :)
August 4, 2013! Our venue is the Monte Verde Inn in Foresthill,CA! It was the first and only venue I visited and I just knew it was the one! I fell in love with it online and even more so after visiting it in September and booked it then and there! :) We are almost to the one year mark, time is flying yay!!!! :)

When I first got engaged back in March and began coming here there weren't any 2013 boards, and now there are so yay :)
We've decided to get married August 17, 2013. I really want an outdoor ceremony, but I don't want to do a typical June/July wedding, so we decided on either August or September. I originally preferred September 7 because it's really close to our relationship anniversary (Sept. 3) but I'm afraid people won't want to come if it's too close to Labor Day.
What August 2013 date have you picked? Have you booked anything yet?
We've only looked at two venues so far. It's hard to picture what anything will look like now that winter is setting in, so we'll probably start looking at stuff again in the spring and make a decision by June.
