Ok, so I'm not getting married that day but it is my birthday, woohoo! Congrats ladies!!

We may end up that weekend or the following. It's close to my grandparent's 70th anniversary and my son's birthday.
Our date is August 22nd as well!!
It's perfect for a two week honeymoon before school starts again :)
Yay, I'm 08/22/09 too!!!! It will be amazing...we'll have our wedding that weekend and then we Cdns will get a 4 day weekend for the following one! I also chose this date b/c it's the day before my maid of honour's bday (and she's coming in from Europe). Can't wait!
Any recommendations for late Aug/early Sept honeymoons? We were hoping to go South but it will be hurricane season... :(

Our date is 8-22-09 as well...it feels like it's coming up so fast! As far as honeymoons go, we are thinking Hawaii but Greece could be a good option, too. Obviously, all of the great Carribean options are out because it's smack in the middle of hurricane season :(
We're 8/22/09 too!! Yahoo! We're getting closer. When are you guys having your showers, bachelorette parties, etc?? Also is ANYONE going to the Caribbean? We had initially had a different date and had already booked St. Lucia so when we changed the date we had to stick with the same place. It's a big risk and I'm nervous!!!
I'm another August 22 bride! We are planning to honeymoon on the southern coast of Spain but still have to plan the trip and book the flights/hotel. As for the other events, my bachelorette is tentatively scheduled for July 18 - about a month before the wedding. My bridesmaids are laying the groundwork already because most of them (three out of five) live out of town and have to fly in for the festivities. We haven't decided on the date for the bridal shower yet. They floated having it the same weekend as the bachelorette, but that seems over-ambitious for a single weekend. What do you guys think?

My FI is having his bachelor party the weekend of my shower- July 18- which is a bit much to me, but my parents and sibs are coming into town for my shower, and he would like my brother and dad to come golfing or whatever they end up doing. I would NOT have my own bachelorette party the night before my shower though! Maybe shower same day and have the bachelorette party that night, though... thats a lot of wedding stuff in one weekend but if it saves your BMs from having to make two trips, that would be great!
My bachelorette party is scheduled for July 11 in NYC ... shower in my hometown June 28, and then out here in Boston July 18. It's gonna be a busy summer!!
Aug 22 is the date! <3 and its 2 days after my birthday! what exciting times ahead!

As for me I am pretty much done...just waiting for the date really! THAT CANT COME SOONER ENOUGH!
@Chantellamus - That's great that you're pretty much done planning everything!
The big project coming up for us is invitations. My FI's brother is designing our invitations, which we hope to deliver to the printer's at the end of the month. I'm going to feel a big load off when we get all of them assembled and mailed out - and I think it's really going to hit me that I'm getting married when the responses start coming back in June!
I'm looking forward to some of the other paper projects, like escort cards and favors and programs, but all of that will have to wait until August. I can't wait!

i just booked our honeymoon to hawaii (oahu and kauai). so excited!
i've already sent out my invites (early...i know!). i wanted it to be sent out before the postage hikes. i believe my shower is scheduled for June 27th. i'm starting on designing my programs and menus now. i want to try to get as much done as possible. i hate last minute surprises. how far along are you ladies?
3 months!! I had a mini panic attack today when I realized it's only three months away and I still have SO much to do. Anyone else?

I know! I can't believe how close it's getting!!! We've been getting shower gifts delivered like every day. My first shower is next weekend. It's so much fun!!!! How are you guys doing with the planning???
We are getting our RSVPs every day and my bach party is next weekend.. its getting so close!!!
Our wedding is 8/22 at The Wit Hotel in Chicago. Two months to go and LOTS to do. I happened to work from home today and have to keep getting up to get the door for FedEx, UPS and USPS - shower gifts! It's been like an unexpected Christmas!

@mcflail- I know, we have the same thing going on!! So many shower gifts arriving from people who can't come or shipped them directly. I'm starting to feel bad for the UPS guy, he's here every day!!! (But I love it.... it's so exciting!)

our wedding is 8/21... which apparently is my IN-LAWS wedding anniversary.
i'm kinda irritated that my FI didn't REMEMBER this and tell me. i would have planned for a completely other date.
living an hour and a half away from them is enough. don't get me wrong, i love them, as does my 23 month old daughter. i would have like to have the anniversary separation. call me silly.

hey...we are all getting married THIS MONTH! and now when people ask, "when are you getting married?", we can say "the twenty second"...not "august 22nd" or "in a few months" haha
