We are having our reception at our house so today I moved things out of our dog's room so we can rip out the carpet. My FI replaced the boards on our deck yesterday my dad's help and today my dad powerwashed it and the house while my sister and her boyfriend trimmed our shrubs. So thankful for all the help but we still have a ways to go! Getting rid of trash, staining the deck, cleaning the house, ordering the food, meeting with our photog, finishing my alterations... yup. Gonna be a busy month!
@anglang25: what have you got going on?
@MissTatas: we're currently finishing up our favors, just confirmed the flower delivery, haven't decided on a cake yet (ahhhhhh!), and chasing down late rsvp's! sounds like you're making some serious progress! are you getting excited yet? i'm at the point where i get butterflies just thinking about it. :)
@anglang25: I have to confirm with the bakery and florist. Fun stuff I tell you! I am debating about doing favors or not. It may be a last minute addition. What are you doing for favors?
I went to a wedding on Friday and practically had a panic attack before she walked down the aisle. FI suggested I take a few shots before our 9am ceremony so I don't leave him at the altar ;)
@MissTatas: haha! yeah, seeing other peoples weddings have made me hyperventilate myself! we're doing seed packets, and chocolate bars. :D a little different but totally us...since i LOVE flowers, and he's a chocoholic. :) and i know i DEFINITELY am taking a shot before the wedding, no other way am i going to make it down the aisle smiling if i don't...i have a panic look and i'm pretty sure that is what my face would look like. :)
Well it is 24 days as of today, my is time flying and my how life will change for me. It will be a rough turning point to say the least but once the turn has been made I am sure it will be fantastic!!!!! I have small details to feather out. Like I still need to order mah flowers from 50 flowers.com or sams club not sure which I will end up with. I have to make final payments. and get the drinking glasses for reception. Debating on flowers girl sash (to have one or not) And jewerly is still up in the air. I have the pieces but they dont match...hey misstatas and anglang! Can you wear mismatched pieces of jewrely like for example a sterling silver bracelet made out of hearts that are all connected, with tear drop crystal earings with no pendant in the middle and a necklace(don't have necklace yet, I didnt think iwas going to have one, but I want one now hehe).
I have to move out and get prepared for school in the fall immediately following the honeymoon. Oh and transfering locations at my work since it will be closer to move from present work location to the location closer to the new area that I will be moving to. phew, so hectic, I cannot wait till its over and I can rest, but I will wait since mom is very sad to move a state away from me in the end of august. I will miss her as she greatly misses me ;(
@bLISSFLbRDE: I think mismatched jewelry is fine. If you can share picture that would help greatly!
I am meeting with my seamstress tomorrow and our photog on Friday. I still need to find shoes and a bra. EEK!
@bLISSFLbRDE: I think it's okay to wear mismatched jewelry -- Im doing the same! Im wearing my engagement ring (white gold) and just a simple pair of pearl/diamond earrings in gold. I considered dipping them in white gold but decided against it to cross out one more cost and hassle.
I think I have it the worst -- no MOH gown yet, no wedding bands, no final guest list!
Im picking up my gown late July but the fit was great during my last fitting.
mis-matched jewelry is fine, i'm wearing some! i bought chandelier earrings, and i'm pairing it with my grandmother's black opal and diamond necklace. :) we finally got the cake figured out, and i'm excited! we're going to do the "naked cake". ahhh, hopefully it turns out okay. we just got the confirmation e-mail from our videographer, and our venue as well. things are going smoothly.
@caligurl: my MOH doesn't have her dress yet, either. he grandmother is making it for her since she couldn't find one in a store that she liked! lol. we didn't get our wedding bands until last week, so i feel you on that. and the final guest list will come. it took FOREVER for us to get the RSVP's back, thank god for facebook.
Right now I'm trying to make sure my girls get their dresses altered, but come next week I'm going to have A LOT more work. My RSVP deadline is this Friday so after that I'll be following up with the stragglers (right now we're still waiting on about 80 people!), and then once I have a final count I'll need to follow up with the venue, florist, linen rental co, chair rental co, etc with the exact count of everything and of course do the dreaded seating chart. My mom and I have already had a fight over where ONE person is going to sit so that should be fun.
But my biggest focus/stress is trying to lose that last little bit of weight before the wedding. I don't need to lose weight but I want to tighten up. I got to a good place before my bachelorette party, but then I kind of pigged out for a month. I was so disappointed in what I looked like in the pics taken at my shower and I don't want to look like that for the wedding.
@MissTatas: Thank goodness!!! I am less worried and just need that necklace. I hope you find your shoes and a bra. I am exchanging bras since it will be a better fit for the newly tailed bust ( I couldn't do a sweatheart neckline, so I am having the middle of the bust ruched together with a simple bow in the middle of it ^^) I am picking it up tomorrow CANNOT wait.
As far as pictures, I wont be able to, I dont have a digital camera or a readily availabe cell phone with camera. :( I know it would help, but I am glad that mismatched is ok and its not that big of a deal at least and I will enjoy wearing my faveorite pieces together.
@anglang:::I love chandelier earrings...Your grandmas set sounds really pretty. I am really glad for unmatched jewerly being ok!! I thought about having a naked cake(Is that with just plain white frosting (naked) with no decorations of any kind?)
@caligurl:That might be hectic to have the earrings dipped in white gold, but hopefully you might get extra time to have them done if it ease your thoughts a little on the wedding day:) Thank you and evreyone else for your help, I was really worried and am at ease for the moment, again:). Just have to wait for rsvps which I might just have to make phone calls.
today:
-print/attach custom water bottle labels (just got my waterproof/tear-proof paper today!)
-burlap bunting for cake table
-OOT bag welcome letter/itinerary
-finish reupholstering vintage suitcase for card box
-print candy buffet labels (already designed them last nite)
this weekend:
-DIY pearl brooch necklace/earrings
-dye dolies for cupcake wrappers
-purchase fabric for photobooth background
-gather more driftwood for beach arbor
and that's not even the whole list of things to do!!! AHHHHHHHH
@bLISSFLbRDE: hey! my grandmother has good taste. :P they are pretty. and yes, the naked cake that we have decided on has no frosting on the outside, just in the middle of the layers to bond them together. we're going to decorate it with chocolate dipped strawberries, and fresh blackberries, and some fresh roses. we're not big on icing, and we thought it was something that hasn't been done at too many weddings. :D and the rouching in the front with a little bow sounds cute! i wanted to alter my strapless to a sweetheart neckline and was told i couldn't due to the beading. :-( boooo!
@ijustrockout: things will come together, just breathe! :) the necklase and earrings shouldnt' take you too long, depending on wether or not they're intricate. the beach arbor sounds wonderful! ahhh, i miss the beach.
AHHh so close!!!
I just finished Programs and "I Spy" Games. I ordered BM necklaces and MOH is picking out hers.
Lately I've been dealing with stressful RSVP issues! My deadline is this saturday and I still have over 100 RSVPs that haven't come in yet (eek!) I'm starting to think about seating but it was so stressful I decided to leave it for later!
Confirming cake design, venue stuff.
PIcking out music for down the aisle has been a pain. and I HAVEE to get some sheet music to the pianist or she won't be able to practice anything at all.
I live in Boston and the wedding is in PR so I have to wait until I get to PR next week so I can meet with my family and start doing a lot of the stuff we still have to do like making pinwheels, going over flower orders, makeup trial, etc.
I can't believe we're only 3 and half weeks away!
I'm new to posting (I've been stalking since I got engaged almost a year ago) but thought this would be a good place to start!
I'm an August 6 bride, too. Three weeks from tomorrow at this very time I will be married to my best friend.... so very excited!
Good luck with all the crazy last minute planning!
2 weeks by the end of this week, which will be here soon. I want I spy but I have no money left and mom will be paying for flowers instead of me:( which I am very very grateful. I can not wait but I can. Donated some jackets, a coat and shoes to goodwill. And figuring out the mood of the reception candlelight dinner music (no dancing) Sinatra, jazz, kenny Gwill do nicely I think! I still need drinking glasses b/c our caterer like to overprice her glasses and need to start thinking of what to wear for honeymoon trip. Arch is taken care of and will be stunning, I was so worried about it. We got our e-pics on cd back. Loved them! And meeting with photgrapher friday to go over wedding day scheduales.
Rsvps need a whole paragraph on there own lol. My deadline is the end of this week, the 23rd. And got back about 15 of the 70 that are showing up...I give up. I am just going to plan on making phone calls to Babcia and have him make phone calls on his side too.
Concerned about the weather. And so friday we should know what it will be like outside.
Deciding on if we need to get hard liquor for our open bar (wine and beer)Light rum and vodka. Wait till I get flowers till I start purchasing those.
Nedd boxes to start moving clothes in the next few days. And need hours at work , I have 4 hours this week :( and gave myself the next week off, which now I dont need. Ahhhhhlol
Like 11 days left! I can't believe how close it is. I haven't been on here in forever and just decided to tonight. I bet everyone is so busy! I know I am. I still have to pack the favor bags, get 2 brides' maids shoes, jewelry for the brides' maids, and a few other things that I hope are simple. This has been really fun, stressful, but fun and I am sad to see it almost coming to an end, however I am super excited for that big day! I have got to spend a lot of time with my mom, friends, and even fiance` - he has been so involved in stuff, i'm so proud and happy! can't wait girls! good luck to you all! =)
10 days! Just locked in my head count with the venue, finalized everything and get to pick up my dress next Wednesday! Good luck to everyone! Can't wait for August 6th!!
Good luck to you too!! I picked up my dress today and the brides' maids next Wednesday! lol!! I'm so excited! It is going to come and go so quick, I'll miss all this hecticness! =) Good luck, have fun and enjoy!!!!
How's everyone doing about now? Last week I was definitely feeling the stress, but this week I am oddly calm. What am I forgetting to do?? I'm sure there's something. ha. good luck to you!
