I would call them again… It’s not your fault they have other weddings! you live far enough away that they should understand scheduling could be an issue. Good luck!

I mean, I tried on my dress when it came in last summer, but my “fitting” (which is me picking up my dress and taking it to my grandma’s to be hemmed) isn’t until July 13 (same day I have my hair and makeup trial). My bridal salon doesn’t really do alterations, though (I guess it depends on who you ask, but I’ve heard that they have seamstresses they recommend who don’t work for them and also that they have a lady who sometimes works out of their shop?).

If they say that your dress isn’t in yet, but you decide to make an appointment and go in there, what are you going to do if your dress really isn’t in yet?

You bought your dress in September and they’re telling you that it’s not in yet?! My dress took 2 months to come in! Call them ASAP and get an ETA on your dress.

Has your dress arrived? If it has, then I wouldn’t worry – sounds like the salon has it under control. If not (or you’re not sure), then I would be hassling them!

@FrenchyPeedee:  Yeah, I don’t like the “everything’s under control” line if you’ve specifically asked dress your dress has arrived. All is probably still fine, but I’d want a straight yes/no answer.

@FrenchyPeedee:  Since you are so limited on dates that you are available I would definitely call and make the appointment. Be firm about your availability and make sure that you schedule the appontment, don’t let them discourage you. Even if they can schedule it later, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to make it now. You’ll be so much less stressed if you have an appointment on the books! My first fitting was about 3 weeks ago, my second is on the 9th FYI.

WOW I am shocked they havent called and set up a fitting yet, I am having my 3rd fitting on friday. (had to make a LOT of changes to the dress)

I would call and figure out what is going on as soon as they open tomorrow. And maybe find a back up for alterations.

You need to get in for a fitting!  When my dress came in it was defective…they had to send it back and get a new one, then I had to get THAT one fitted twice!  Luckily I had enough time left to do all of that.  I would be getting nervous if you don’t get in there soon…I would definitely call them.

I think I bought my dress in November, it came in in January, I tried it on in February, had my first fitting June 12th, my second fitting will be July 8th, and my third and final fitting will be July 20th.

@FrenchyPeedee:  I bought the actual sample dress back in November, so I have had my dress for a while. My first fitting was on May 14, second on June 27 and I am going back this upcoming Tuesday (July 2) to do bustle alterations. My plan is to have the final fitting done by July 18.
