I have no idea if we’re on schedule or not! We have our venue, caterer, and photographer booked. We started our registry and wedding website this weekend, and are coordinating with our photographer to do engagement pictures in April. We haven’t officially asked our officiant, but he’s offered, and we’ve picked wedding bands but haven’t ordered them. We have a meeting with a DJ on Monday… I think the most stressful thing is I’m planning on doing a lot of DIY right before the wedding and I have no idea how it will turn out. Eep, but there’s plenty of time right?

Ugh, FI and I got into a fight about it last night. I’d like to get our photobooth booked and for him to pick out his groomsmen, but he’s stalling. We have our venue, which does the catering and alcohol, my bridal party, photographer and DJ, so at least the major things are done. Don’t really want wedding planning stress to set in already!

We have almost everything done, and booked. Our only tasks really left are:

-Groomens Gifts already have the bridesmaids done.

-Deciding on what cake we want, apt in April.

-Finishing making our table numbers (half are done)

-Escort cards (don’t think I will do this until we get RSVP’s)

    -Mailing out the actual Invites

-Favours (won’t happen till a week before the wedding, have most of the materials)

-Meet with DJ (three weeks before wedding..I think?)

-Meet with officant….we need to do some researching before we do this though on vows, ect.

-Meet with Photographer, if she wishes to.

-Meeting with the Venue, (happening in April)

-2nd fitting (again happening in April)

-Order Flowergirls dress (my sisters friend is making it)

-Order rings which wont happen until June, FI really wants to increase our budget for my ring if we can.

-other than that its just the details.

@mindy_pindy: It sounds like you have a lot of things done which is awesome! I (think) I am on track but there is still quite a bit to do.

This month: I need to order our flowers for myself and the bridal party and order our wedding invitations

April-May look for little boleros for the bridesmaids dresses. We were originally getting married in Spring but our date was pushed forward to end of winter, and I don’t want them freezing in strapless dresses lol!

May: meet with our priest to finalise our ceremony, meet with the musicians from church and choose our music

June: FI needs to get his wedding ring and suits for the groomsmen, I need to get a second fitting on my dress, send out wedding invitations

July: Make a playlist for our wedding reception, make our placecards.

At the moment I think that is everything.. gee is seems like a lot now I’m looking at it!

mindy_pindy: Sounds like you’re doing pretty good! Here’s what we have left:

    -Decide on decor/meet with decorator

-Order rings (think we have them picked out though)

-Dress fittings (dress should be here next week! Squeeee!)

-Pick music and reading for the ceremony

-Find a musician for the cermony (This is my only stress! Can’t find anyone!)

    -Meet with the Priest

    -Get BM and GM gifts

    -Print and send out invites

-Seating chart (have to wait for RSVP’s obviously)

    -Decide on flowers/meet with florist

    -Pick cake flavours

I think thats it but I’m sure I forgot a million things!

    Hi gals!

Last night, FI hired our DJ! We had a slight delay but are meeting with 2 florists on Saturday and are hoping to make a decision by the end of the weekend. Our invites have been drafted, we’re just ironing out some details that will be included on the invite. We need to collect addresses for our guest list. I will sampling favours next weekend, my MOH is awesome and will be making them (with my help, but she’s the pro). Our cake is ordered, I’m fortunate to have another friend who is extremely talented. Bridesmaids dress was selected last weekend, necklaces too. I have decided that I will treat them all to have their hair styled on the day of. FI picked out his band last week (he already has mine, it nests with the e-ring) and the awesome saleswoman will contact us when there is a sale since we still have lots of time.

It’s getting very real! I’m anxious for my dress to come in for a fitting but I was pretty late in the game ordering it, just over a month ago. I just can’t wait to see it again!

    • Wedding: October 2014

October bride here, I feel like I’m in a good place, we are about 50% paid off [without the honeymoon], just booked out photographer.

Still looking for a dj and an officiant, though. I’m not SUPER concerned about a dj though, as I have a professional quality sound system and would just need to find someone to manage the songs [plenty of free programs for that as well].

I’m also still looking for a seamstress for alterations, I feel like I’m okay right NOW since my day is still 8 months away, but I need to find one soon.

We also need to figure out what we’re doing for our ceremony music.. I’m thinking of just a cd player or something.

This is the list of what’s left :

    Grooms Attire [everything but cufflinks]

    Groomsmen Attire [everything but cufflinks]

Bridesmaid Attire – [everything but jewelry and handbags]

Finish paying off hair/makeup artist [deposit made & booked already]

    Dress Alterations

    Bathroom basket & items

Candy, brownies, cookies, chocolates ect for candy buffet

13 Jumbo suction cups for hanging decor

    Extension cords

Up lighting [we are doing our own]

    Ceremony Music

    Marriage License

    Shepard’s Hooks

    Cigars for cigar buffet

Matches, basket for matches and cigar cutters

    Food for cocktail hour

    Hay bales

    Fabric to cover hay bales

twine

    Centerpiece flowers

    3 table cloth skirts

    2 table skirts

    arm lamp

day before/of hotel [booked but not paid for]

reception building [booked but not paid for]

    invitations, rsvp, envelopes

cupcake stands [we have about 48, need another 5 dozen or so]

    flower girl dress

    120 votive candle holders

    Welcome party food

    optional things are :

more taper candle holders [we have a bunch already but wouldn’t mind more]

more tealight candle holders [see above]

I don’t feel that this list is SUPER long considering we still have 8 months.

    • Wedding: July 2014 - Backyard

We are getting married in mid-July. We are just having a small backyard wedding and ordering pizza. But, there will be about 80 people, so there are plenty of logistics.

I may or may not have a friend make a simple wedding dress for me. Or, I might just buy a pretty dress. I can’t decide. I need to get this done! This is the only thing really stressing me out at the moment. Since I am not going for a traditional gown I have some time.

mindy_pindy: You’re doing well with your planning! I hope everything works ou with the fitting of your dress. As for our wedding planning, I had an early start and booked the following vendors in just 3 weeks after we booked our venue: -my make up artist, hairstylist, photographer, photobooth, videographer, DJ/MC The catering, all rentals, lighting, florist, and all floral designs will all have to be through our venue. We can’t use other vendors for those, but we like it that way. Our coordinator and event designer are amazing! So far… -got my shoes and my dress came in last month, but I won’t start alterations till May -just got done booking our baker and designing our wedding cake (probably my absolute favorite part of this whole wedding planning is the cake tasting!) -designed and put the deposit down for our wedding invitations earlier this week. We’ll be emailing the first draft of the wording (bilingual) to our invitations designer today. -found our officiant -all my BMs agreed and liked the dress I picked out and will order the dresses around May; FI and groomsmen will pick out their attire this month -my hair and make up trial will be on the same day as our engagement shoot n in April The only stressors I really have (or I think I’ll have) are the late RSVP replies and the seating chart. We have at least 200 guests, and the numbers are still going up. We still need to finalize our guest list. We’re hoping everyone respond accordingly since we made our RSVP card as specific as possible. Other than that, I think we’re okay…I hope! We still need to do a lot, but I think we’re right on track. Good luck with the wedding planning and don’t stress too much. 🙂

We are getting off fairly easily as far as planning goes (FI’s family is handling all the arrangements for the venue since we’re having a DW where they live). And no bridal party or anything.

On our end, we have my dress (yay! Probably the biggest thing lol), shoes, and we are ordering invitations soon.

Still need to do: get some nice bridal-type jewelry, figure out what FI is going to wear, figure out what favors we want to do (if any), and book our travel. Aaaah that sounds like a lot to do now that I’ve typed it all out 🙂

Good luck to all the August brides, keep posting your progress & how you’re doing!
