    Hey girlies!

Done with the vendors (except rentals...working on it), so what other to dos are people working on right now?? Name top 5 or less please :)

Here's some that I probably should get cracking on:

Inivitations, ceremony musicians, rehearsal dinner......AHHH what else??

Ha, I met with a potential DoC and am meeting another one in about 10 minutes, so that's on my to do list. I'm also going to try to meet with florists... I'm a little behind, can't you tell?

Need to book transportation, rehearsal dinner (FI and his mom will take care of that) and really, a bunch of little things like get shoes, veil, bubbles for outside of church.  All the big things are set.  :)

Lots of little stuff for me too.  I think the only biggies are the officiant (yep, thats a BIGGIE), a baker.  Hmmm, lots of small details: first dance song, bridal acessories, signature cocktail, and more...

    @RxBride - Hey date twin!

Um, I'm feeling overwhelmed currently. Next month I'm planning on meeting with my event planner to start talking about decor/flowers, meet with our officiant, do a hair/makeup trial, start looking for invitations, add to our hotel block for saturday night, start to figure out transportation...

Ok that's enough. I already feel like I'm going to throw up. Oh and I found out last night that my MOH doesn't like the way her dress fits so now I have to try to exchange it for a different style at JCrew and I like so do not want to deal.

Right now our top things are:

    - finish the STDS – they are this.close to being done – now just need the final push. Expect to mail next Monday.
    - finalizing our menu (we only have to pick the pasta course, and then pay the 30% deposit) and have the tasting (yummmmmmmmm).
    - rehearsal dinner
-invitations (met with letterpress guru last week, so hopefully invitations will start to come together by the end of March).

Lots of little things like jewelry, hair inspirations, work on OOT bags, etc.

The only “drama” with the rehearsal dinner is that FMIL is *adamant* that FFIL (they are divorced) pay for the rehearsal dinner. I know it’s “tradition” that his fam pay, but we don’t expect that, and no one in either family is very “traditional” – but for some reason every time FH talks to his mom she asks if his dad has offered to pay for the dinner yet, and tells us to speak to FFIL about it. Soooooooo, we need to figure that one out (and telling her WE planned on paying for the dinner hasn’t worked, either). Hmmm :/

Quite a few details left: shoes, accessories, hair and makeup, first dance song, officiant, sending out the invites :)

The biggest thing is find an officiant. All other big vendors are booked.

Really gotta start mocking up centerpieces and working on our favors.
Do some final tweaking on invitations. start looking into adhering/joining options for our invites.
Start drafting up programs (decide if we want fan fan or paddle fan), favor tags and all other paper goods.Start looking into wedding bands
Get the seamstress started on flower girl dresses.
Get a feel for BMs and the bridesmaids dresses.
Continue building music list for key moments.

Hmm...I think my list is the same as last month.

    #1 - Bridesmaid dresses

    #2 - DJ (FI's job)

#3 - Invitations, I think I have decided to order to save the trouble.  I originally wanted to design my own.  So now I need to get on top of it.

Don't see tuxes/malle attire on the lists....is this too far out? I was thinking about it the other day and I almost forgot to set a deadline for this one (who needs a groom ;) anyone tackled this one yet? Have a feeling boys will take a while to get measured!

@RxBridetobe: We set up an account with a formalwear place last month in order to take advantage of their special at a bridal fair, but I don't think we're going to have the guys measured for tuxes for a little bit in case of weight fluctuations. Though I do think I'll drag Mr Spin out soon to narrow down tux styles so we can talk about boutonnieres vs. pocket squares.

    1. Need to get a DJ! (eek! can't believe I've left it this long!)

    2. STDs! (eek! more exclamation points!)

    3. Invites. My sister keeps on designing super cute invites for us but I just can't seem to decide what to do. :p Story of my wedding planning career.

    4. Talk to florist and get a quote.

And that's the short list. Ugh.

@RxBride - I actually did have GM attire on my list for March but one of our GMs' wife just left him and is filing for divorce so I'm holding off on any GM related wedding stuff for the moment. It's annoying because we want them in gray suits and it's way more difficult than going the tux from Men's Wearhouse scenario.

RxBride - our guys are going shopping next week to look at suits.  Not sure how long it all takes, but I'm sure you have more than enough time to get that done.  :)

@ Kittyachi You are doing great! Everyone is on their own pace...seems like some people have things other people haven't thought of, why I made this post :)

Man everyone is so ontop of things, nice work ladies! I have been trying to supplement the misery of painful things like vendors with "fun" things like centerpeices and veils....highly recomment this!

I am glad I'm not the only one feeling overwhelmed! I love my fiance to death, but he is not helping with anything. And my mom is not being very helpful. She has champagne tastes on a beer budget and she has a negative opinion on everything I suggest! Ugh!

    6. florist booked and deposit paid off

    7. band bookeed and deposit paid off

    8. save the dates sent out

    9. website set up

    10. hotel blocks booked

    11. groom's attire picked out (his own formal white tie attire)

    12. rings bought and resized for me

    13. photographer booked and deposit paid for

    14. reception site booked and paid for

    15. rehearsal dinner location set

    16. earrings and necklace bought

    17. fiance's wedding gift bought

    18. wedding shoes bought

    Need to do:

    1. order invitations

    2. transportation booked for wedding party and out of town guests

    3. cake design and flavors finalized

    4. menu picked out for wedding

    5. menu picked out for rehearsal

    6. day after brunch set up

    7. find tux place and order tuxes for the guys

    8. finalize music with the organist

    9. book and pay for honeymoon

    10. plan welcome reception for out of town guests

    11. book bridal luncheon

    12. have engagement pictures

    13. have bridal portraits

    14. get cake topper (think I want to use my parents)

    15. do programs

    16. pick out Bible readings

    17. get last minute accessories

    18. order bridesmaid gifts

I have suits slated for early April. It was originally slated for May; we're hitting up the outlets for new suits so wanted to give the Spring suits time to hit the outlets. But May is looking to be a bit crazy. FI's got his bachelor party that month and I"ll be in NYC as well one weekend. So 2 weekends are already shot. So we moved the search up to April.

Ack, I'm so behind.  But we knew that would happen when we got engaged 6 months before the wedding, so oh well.  But in a few days I ought to have the reception venue finalized, which means the date will be too.  Location is the most important thing to me, so I've been hemming and hawing about this.  But other things to do soon: find and book a caterer, finish our registries, decide what we're doing about music and find someone(s), find a student photog, and decide if FI has any suits good enough to be married in.  Also, we need to find a great tailor/seamstress for both of us.  I'm enjoying the accelerated nature of our planning, since it's forcing us to be simple, which is what I like anyway, it's just so easy to get distracted by all the wedding shiny out there.

    2) Ceremony music - ugh dont even want to talk about this one!!

    3) Accessories - need to find shoes, unders, figure out what Im doing for jewelry

    4) Keep working on ceremony - Im writing the whole thing!

    5) Extras - favors/programs/etc...just need to be thinking about it all!

FI, my mom and I are going down to Georgia in the beginning of April to do engagement photos, cake tastings, and talk to the florist so thats when Ill be taking care of all that! GOod luck everyone - there is still a lot to do but it seems like we have all gotten a lot accomplished!!
