posted 1 month ago in Honeymoons

I am planning an August 2009 wedding, and looking for a honeymoon destination. Where are my Aug. brides going to avoid the summer storm season/ I am looking to spend no more than 6k for flights, etc.

^^^While the Keys are beautiful, August is actually the HEIGHT of hurricane season.

Ivygal, what type of destination are you looking for? Tropical beach, mountains, etc.? Keep in mind that south of the Equator the seasons are flipped, so you could actually go skiing in South America if you wanted to!

We are looking for something tropical. Originally, we thought Mexico - but a lot of those areas are still technically hurricane season locations, and the water issue is a big thing for me. I don't want to have to worry about turning into Charlotte on SATC!

We are now looking at Hawaii, Bonaire, Curacao, Fiji, etc. I think 7k is our absolute max for 7 days.

Thoughts? Has anyone done the luxury Mexico thing and been free from tummy issues?
