We’re using hydrangeas too!  I like the blue and white ones, though…

I just realized that I didn’t really answer your question, lol… I don’t know all the flowers that are in season, but hydrangeas are pretty sturdy and can hold up to heat well. Roses are almost always “in season” since you can get them for a reasonable price almost all year long.  Other than that, I think it depends a lot on your area.  Good luck!

ETA: I’ve been told they’re very reasonably priced, and you only need a few to really fill out centerpieces etc… I haven’t done much comparison shopping, though, and I my florist couldn’t give me a quote since I was over a year out when I asked.

I got married in July, which is a month earlier, but these are what we used…  ROSES ROSES ROSES, callalilies, and greenery

we centered the centerpieces and bouqeuts around rust color shades of roses.

Also, rather than using little candies or something like that as favors, we gave each guest a very very deep red rose that was tucked into the napkin.  This was a huge hit!

My favorite flower is tulip- which is so. not. an August flower. So, I’m just going with whatever is the right color. I don’t really have any strong flower feelings aside from the tulips.
