My months to do list.. and heres my progress…
1.Find/ Book the music and entertainment for ceremony and reception. (negatory.. havent done it)
2.Start thinking about a bridal registry. (not even close to thinking about it)
3.Start my search for my wedding cake. (way down on the to do list)
4.Give my reception venue a call to talk about caterer. (my reception venue cancelled on me, so I searched for a new venue instead)
5.Pay deposit for caterer and talk menus. (cant talk menus till i find new venue)
6.Determine my budget for my flowers. (zero dollars till i find out venue cost)
7.Send out our Save the Dates. (all ready to go for postage after my brothers wedding next weekend.. YAY!)
1.Finish my flower project for reception venue or at least complete half. (half done)
2.Finish the letters for hanging on arch way (at the moment they are just painted and looking boringggggg!) (tried jazzing it up… but epically failed)
3. Complete attachment of RSVP wraps for inside the invitation. (done!)
So the stuff I didnt do I plan to do this month… Its a never ending snowball.. 🙁

How soon are you supposed to send out save the dates?? I hope it’s not too late, but I was planning on using my photos from my engagement session in March… Maybe that isn’t enough time. I didn’t know you have to book make up artists so far ahead of time either.
So much to do! Here’s mine. 🙂
February To Do:
Interviewing Caterers – that should help narrow down budget
Book DJ – interviewing
Book Officiant/Celebrant/Judge (Our pastor’s already signed on for our date)
Book Makeup/go to trial – still need to find someone i like
Start acquiring Venue Decor Items – still interviewing florists and caterers
Begin researching honeymoon
Wedding Website Started
Started one registry at Bed Bath and Beyond

Shutterfly, I’m sending out my save the dates on March 15th because the etsy seller who is making them was totally backed up when I inquired and had to work mine in.
My to do list is:
1. Meet with officiant/book officiant
2. Hire wedding planner for partial planning (reviewing contract now)
3. Hire caterer (have several tastings coming up)
4. Venue decor (have begun to bid for vintage mason jars on ebay)
6. Ceremony musician
7. Baker for my cupcakes
Last month I: ordered my dress, booked my photog, ordered my save the dates and invitations, and bought my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, built my honeymoon registry and wedding website.

Whew. That’s about all I can deal with in February!

I think the “rule of thumb” is 6-8 months but I think as long as you send it a month or 2 before you send out invitations you should be OK!
As for the make up artist I’m not sure what the rule of thumb is? But in my scenario I’m not getting married where I live and times back are scarce. Next weekend is our next trip back and the trip after that is Memorial Day weekend. So I’m afraid end of May is cutting it way close. Add to it that the make up artist I found I really like, so does my Maid/Matron of Honor and they are offering a awesome early bird special. So I don’t want the deal to slip through my fingers if I end up liking them. Know what I mean?
Did you find ceremony musicians from CT or NYC? I’m still contemplating and looking. Thanks!

Here’s mine so far! (august 7)
1)send in contract for reception entertainment
2)send out std’s
3)creating some fun monogram projects
4)send off for color swatches from cards and pockets for invites
5)finish gathering addresses
6)begin looking at dresses (deadline for me is april 3
7)meet w/my friendor, Kasey, to begin the idea on the pomanders (moss and seashell) for the wedding
8)discuss bm bouquets with etsy designer (they’re having seashell bouquets too!)
*We’ve got the reception venue booked, the church taken care of, and the big things to go are going to happen when we get in town for a weekend vendor blitz in March or early april. We’re going to solidify the florist and the cake baker as well as take pics and decide menu at the reception site. For us, it seems kinda easy honestly!

Forgot to add, we’re not going to register until about 3 mos before the wedding. Also, T’s thing is to solidify the negotiations w/the two places for rooms!

i have bad dreams about it!!!!
two nights ago i dreamt that my wedding would take place with everything i have planned as of this very moment…… That would be a HUGE catastrophe! Cake, no food, no alcohol, no photographer, no dj, flowers that are half done, no Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, no hair or makeup….. i know what i want and i’ve planned but it makes me really wanna shell out some money so i can make sure that dream doesnt happen
Post # 14
@ccranetobe yes i have been nervous too!!! I also have had dreams that it all won’t get done but I know I am just being ridiculous. I know I am ahead of the game but I still worry!
My friends call me the over organized bride and I have not lost my mind yet 🙂 I think that I will get everything accomplished and as long as he is waiting for me at the end of the aisle that is all that matters to me!
