We are preparing for our upcoming wedding, and are stumped on a honeymoon location. We got engaged in Rome, so not much will top that! We were thinking Paris, but are positive yet. I was browsing the internet for a location in the US that may include a golf resort, at least nearby, and would love to be on the ocean with a beachfront room. Any suggestions? East coast preferred, but not limited too. August is hurricane season, and I am weather paranoid, so that is a factor as well. I want to just r-e-l-a-x after all this planning, so an all-inclusive resort would be wonderful! Thanks for your suggestions!

What about Bermuda or somewhere near Kiawah Island Resort in SC?

I’m also planning a honeymoon in August and have been stumped. Depends on what kind of “beach” you enjoy. White sandy one? Maybe Bermuda if you can settle for pink sands. Or Florida Keys if you enjoy blue waters. Rocky beach? Why not Cape Cod, Nantucket, Marthas Vineyard, East Hampton, or Newport? The water should be warm by then and those places are nothing if not relaxing!!

Your Post tell me where you are from, so I don’t really know how you deal with the heat.
If you are a Northerner, you probably don’t want to go very much into the US South in August, no matter how good the weather can be… because you’ll find it stinkin’ hot (so forget Florida)
Instead look at the east coast down to aprox Virginia Beach. Maine, New Husband, Mass, Rhode Island all have gorgeous coast lines. Cape Cod is a favourite for us in August… and would meet all your requirements.
If you are a Southerner, then you’ll be quite content probably south of Virginia Beach as well. The Outerbanks of NC, Myrtle Beach & the Grand Strand, Charleston, Hilton Head, Savannah, and all of Florida can be marellous.
A nice location for golfers is the St Augustine FL area, you’ve got history, sightseeing, beaches & golf (World Golf Hall of Fame). And the golf there is quite surprising… excellent, but doesn’t cost a ton… they are in the business of promoting golf, not making it an unattainable sport.
We were at the WGHoF last year, and loved it !!
Hope this helps,
PS… If you have more Questions, ask away here or send me a PM … I’ve done most of the US East Coast, and would be happy to share my knowledge with you
