We are staying in Costa Rica even though it's the wet season there.
Yeah we would have loved to go somewhere in the Caribbean too but FI didn't want to take the chance since it is hurricane season..
So we are going to Hawaii for 3 weeks instead :) I'm very excited. We booked a few things but not a lot yet because prices are still high on airfare and hotels. The deals haven't come out for summer yet.
We are going to St. Lucia and staying at an all-inclusive. Yes it's hurricane season but I don't care, I know we'll have fun either way :)
Cruise to the Caribbean. I always cruise during that time because it's cheaper. I just buy the travel insurance. Last year we left right before the hurricane hit our area and arrived in San Juan the day before our cruise left. It was stressful week before with flight changes and whatnot but we pulled it off. We're going to leave the week after our wedding and hopefully spend a few days in our port of departure city beforehand.
We were going to honeymoon in the Florida Keys but after FSIL announced her May 2013 destination wedding in the Carribbean we decided to go to Ireland instead. I started reserving B&B's and hotels this weekend, it was a little scary!
We booked our honeymoon at the beginning of this month! We're going to Hawaii for 8 days! We originally wanted to do the Caribbean, but we just couldn't risk it with hurricane season. Now I can't imagine going anywhere else but Hawaii... it looks so amazing!
We are going to Riviera Maya in Mexico!! It is a beautiful place as well as our resort! It is still on the Caribbean Sea as well so you are getting those crystal clear blue waters. At first we didn't want to do Mexico because both of us have been there and with the safety, however when we found this we loved it, and it was within our budget. Our travel agent said that it is safe in that part of Mexico. Our honeymoon is August 7 we leave. So if you want to add it on your "honeymoon ideas" list I would!!
Oh and all you brides going to Hawaii....you will LOVE IT!! My uncle lives there and I have been there a lot and you will never want to come home!!!!!!!!
If you're concerned about hurrican season, you could travel outside of that area. The islands of Hawaii and Bermuda are both beautiful destinations.
We are doing Italy. We are getting married on the 4th, but not living till the 26th because prices dropped significantly.
We're going to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for 8 nights at an all inclusive resort. The deals are pretty great and the beach is beautiful! I cant wait :)
Fiance and I are taking a cruise. From Los Angeles to Mexico and back! Im so excited! Will be my first cruise ever. =D We leave the day after our wedding, seen how we dont live in cali and thought it would save us on travel expenses.
Barbados is good if you're worried about hurricanes, it never gets hit. My FI lives there, so trust me. i mean yeah it's still the wet season, but that's the same anywhere. And Barbados is beautiful.
We were going to go to the Bahamas but because of Hurricane Season we are going to Hawaii. My bosses have a condo so we get to stay there for free and they are paying for our plane tickets. His mom was going to pay for the honeymoon so now she's giving us money towards our wedding. Can't complain here ;) We'll just save the Carribean for our anniversary.
We're going to Key West and using a family home in Melbourne Beach, FL. Not worried about hurricanes. I've traveled to FL many times during hurricane season. I'm actually more concerned about having good weather for the wedding in NH because it's outdoors!
We are going on a cruise that is heading to Bermuda from Baltimore. We are both testing cruises with our honeymoon since my Fi doesn't fly and if it all works out we will be taking the transatlantic crusies for vacations to come! :)
we are staying local, and spending a long weekend in Whistler: hiking, swimming, going to the spa, dancing and dining out!

Savannah, Georgia mini moon for us. Elaborate honeymoon to somewhere tropical sometime next year! (law school seems to get in the way of everything!)
We have a vacation home on a lake in Maine so to save money we're styaing there for our honeymoon and kayaking, hiking and lots of dinners out trying area restaurants and doing day trips! Just excited to be away with him and relaxing!
@FutureMrsHoneybee: We went to Costa Rica in August a few years ago...it would be sunny until like 1 or 2pm and then downpour and then it would be nice again! No biggie! I think there was one night out of nine where it rained all night! I loved the rain while we were hiking in the rainforest...made it feel more authentic. Just get really good poncho's!
We are going to Montego Bay, Jamicia. We booked it in early January and decided that whatever happens, happens we will be together and that is all that matters!
We're taking a caribbean cruise. To the hurricanes, I say BRING IT! lol
We are having a mini-moon to Saratoga NY right after the wedding, then leaving for a 10 day cruise on NEw Years Eve.
st lucia is outside of the hurricane belt--we went there :)
We are trying to pick somewhere! Looking at Antigua/St. Lucia. A little worried about hurricanes though. We are planning to go for a week, and then go to Disney World for a few days before heading home.
@b00kbug: Which cruise company did you go with? I have never been on a cruise and am pretty ambivalent about it but it's SO much cheaper than going to MX or HI during the holidays, of which we're also planning.

@sarsue89: theres a bermuda cruise on royal caribbean out of baltimore that FI and i were looking at as well! we LOVE cruises.

Anyone booked your honeymoon yet? Where are you thinking? We want to head to the Carribean, but I'm worried about hurrican season. My FI wants to hold out for "better deals" as we get closer, but I want to check one more thing off the list!
