@CandiceL:  Perfect, I got you covered. First – for hair, I would consider go to Dry Bar, on the Upper East Side.  They do blow outs (only blow outs – but a few different options) and it’s only $40 and the salon is very cool and fun. As far as makeup goes, I would make an appointment at Blue Mercury, also on the Upper East Side on 3rd Ave just around the corner from Dry Bar, – they will do your makeup for free as long as you buy three products. You’ll be able to get great hair and makeup for probably under $100.

@CandiceL:  I am not from NYC but you could always go to MAC or Sephora and see if they can do make-up for you, usually you can just buy something they used like lipstick and just tip them!

imnotorange:  i will be doing my hair at Le Parker Meridien too! but mostly bc my wedding’s there! debating having the bridesmaids all to the salon there at once vs having the dry bar come up to the bridal suite. weirdly costly to have them just come upstairs.

agree theres some amazing and practical advice here but Candice, are you looking for the H&M artist to come to your location or anything? more details might help. I dont love the idea of Candice darting around the city to get H&M done on the day of especially not being from here. As great as the under $100 H&M is she mentioned $300 and I feel like there may be a significant quality of life (quality of day?) available w/ a team that could come to her or a team at more nearby salons or even 1 person who can do both. I have a few ppl in mind who can but that price point is hard.

Candace — can you share some details? Are you looking for on location? How nearby? What styles do you want to do? What’s your hair like? Skin like? Pinterest links? Once I know more I’ll drop a few strategic texts to stylists I know around town and see what I can do.  Eloping in a far away city = close to my heart and I would love to help if I can!

CandiceL:

JrzyGurl:  Some of the Dry Bars do updos as well – they are about $80. I got mine done there and it was excellent. Sephora and MAC will also do your makeup if you buy $50 worth of products, but make sure you do a test run first if you go that route because results can be variable.

Email this artist: Tiffanyreid84@gmail.com She can def do H&M for what your looking for, and you could probably negotiate too. She’s in the Manhattan area so she’s not far from Central Park. You can do a trial before to see how everything goes first! She’s great!
