Hi everyone! (Sorry posted this on the old board before I knew this one existed. Moving it here!)

Am I the only person who hates Fridays?

Has anyone done any exciting wedding-related things? Yesterday I ordered what I hope will be my shoes online, I'll just have to see if they fit when they arrive. Have never bought shoes online before, mostly because I never fit into any shoes in shops. Hopefully I get lucky.

I also just ordered some sample paper for my invitations to check which colours go together best. My little bro and I are going to make the invitations, he is a graphic designer and illustrator so I hope we can make them awesome!

I just made a mock-up in Word of what I think we will make, just using cut and paste of the paper swatches that were online. I am talented like that. I think they look ok but I don't know!

Other than that I'm still just waiting for our venue to confirm we're actually allowed to use it (it's a holiday house so there is a big complicated process to go through). If they say no we are totally screwed! And just waiting for my earrings, necklace and (second) ring to arrive!

I totally getting stuff done (finally)! Only 5 months and 3 days (holy crap!) to go!

With 6 months to go? I had nothing booked by then so who knows!

The only vendors I'm using are venue, photographer, caterer, celebrant, and hair and makeup. And MAYBE video. All the rest (cars, flowers, cakes, music) will be DIY. (Am I forgetting any?) As long as you have booked the major ones and are in communication with the rest that you'll be using, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Morning! Had a busy day so far, I manage a team of 13 and there is never a dull day

I still need to organise flowers and rings, and we have to pick out the flavour and design of our cake. I have started to think about honeymoons and invitations and it's just too hard! I don't know whether to have a look at Etsy for pdf invitations or use some place like Vistaprint?

 Fuck! I just read Pohget's line that she has 5 months and 3 days - that means i have 5 months and 2 days!

@choolove: Oh yeah, dur, I was just talking about invitations!

I hate shoes because my feet are dumb, and I hate Fridays because I work every single weekend.

And I hate smelly tradies. Not entirely related, but I once had a guy come to fix my computer. He went to the bathroom, DID NOT wash his hands, and then went back and continued fixing my computer. Gross. You better believe, I sanitised the crap outta it as soon as he was gone.

@Sesame Snap: Wow, I didn't realise we were so close in dates! Don't stress! We don't even have a venue for sure yet! We'll be fine though, and you'll be fine too!

I'm not sure if we'll be having a honeymoon. We were going to be going travelling straight after but now we are too poor. I feel like any honeymoon we do have will just be taking money away from our other trip, but I'm also worried that it won't happen at all and then we'll have nothing.

Where are you thinking about for your honeymoon?

@choolove: Were the invitations too thin? That seems to be what some people don't like about them.

@pohget: We are thinking about Thailand. Although Owlie did say yesterday that September is rainy.

@choolove: and you can always PM me too. :) It's hard sometimes being the optimist because people assume you never get upset. So when you do they're always surprised! Hope your demons go away soon!

30 minutes to go and I am out of here! Just had to sit through a 2 hour presentation and watched a man in the row in front of me trying his hardest not to fall asleep!

Off to see Wicked tomorrow night. On the wedding related front I might visit some florists. Of all the wedding related decisions, flowers are the ones giving me grief!

Hi again everyone else! FI and I just went for a lovely long walk together, we are trying to be more active... and then we came home and ate 5 cheesecakes each. Dammit. They are teeny tiny but still very bad. Luckily there are only 14 left out of over 60.

And just because I'm mean, here is the sample box of my cheesecakes I took to work to share last night.

@nephthysa: Glad to see you back! Just think, your weekend lasts 2 hours longer than ours!

@nephthysa: I have to work Saturday and Tuesday of the long weekend, we are closed Fri, Sun and Mon. Good thing it is worth 2.5x pay, so it's totally worth it!
