@BabyBrain:  What type of honeymoon do you want? A beach destination or something more adventurous? For something beachy you could go to Fiji or in Australia you could go to Whitsundays? However Fji is probably cheaper than the Whitsundays at certain times of the year. Thailand is a mix of both depending on where you go but that is similar to Bali honestly. Or New Zealand is nice and reasonably cheap.

Carnival Cruises is doing an 8 night cruise to New Caledonia for $880 pp. I know because i’ve booked for the October one (YAY!). The travel agent said it was a very good cruise (she went with her mum last year).

@BabyBrain:  In Ausrtallia my top picks would be Port Douglas, Palm Cove or Hamilton Island these are my favourite places I’ve visited they are all so beautiful and weather is perfect:)))

I’ve never been overseas but people I know rave about Thailand and Vietnam:)))

I’ve been to vietnam and that was great. Lots if different places to see and once you are there the food, accommodation and shopping is really cheap. We’re thinking of going to Lang Kawi in Malaysia. Friends of ours loved the Outrigger in the Lagoon in Fiji. They even had their own butler!

Fiji was stunning. Check out Musket Cove Resort on Malolo Lai Lai.

My husband and I went to phuket in Thailand for 8 days staying in a beautiful resort and it was $3300 for accommodation flights and transfers. We the  spent an additional $1500 on activities and food. Very cheap holiday but something ill never forget

Kangaroo Island is meant to be beautiful also. You could combine it with a stay in South Australia’s best wine regions…

I’m heading to the Carribean 🙂

I’m a Canadian but lived in Australia for a year. I lived in Mooloolaba which was a great little beach town that wasn’t too crazy or busy but had lots to do. It was on a very pretty beach, which the glasshouse mountains behind it. It was a great spot. My favourite Aussie spots were Noosa, Gold Coast, Whitsundays and Sydney. Maybe those would be places you could look into?

We also did some pretty cheap trips from Australia to Fiji (Blue Lagoon Resort) and Japan ($400 flight!). Fiji was very relaxing and beautiful and Japan was an amazing city and we spent a few days at Tokyo Disneyland which was so much fun! ! We also did a very cheap 2 week cruise ($1200) to New Zealand and really enjoyed ourselves.

The one place I regret not going to was Thailand. I wanted to go there on our upcoming honeymoon but we can’t because it will be monsoon season when we want to go!

I found Australia to be very cheap in terms of travel, especially compared to Canada!
