It depends on the table size, I wish I could remember how big ours are.  They told us that 8-10 could fit at the table, but 10 would be very tight.  Usually the number of people is based on how big the table it, and for a large crowd lean towards a tight fit so everyone has a seat.

The tables originally available for our room were for 8 people, but we asked for the slightly larger tables that fit 10 per people table, comfortably, and they’re able to accomodate us. I think 8 is pretty much the norm.

Our tables are 72″ and we were told to put between 8-12 people per table. We are planning on 28 tables of 9-11 people and then the head table with 14 people.

The chair size matters. Our is 10-12 at a 72″ round, 8-10 at a 60″ round. We have chiavari chairs.

8 people comfortably, 10 if needed but it would be tight. I think we had 60″ rounds.

8-10 per table is good, because you can get a good mix of people. Ex: at 8-seater, you can have two groups of couples who know each other.

We had about 115? people, and 13 tables- worked well.

our venue places 10 people per table.

i’d love to do 8 people per table though. 10 seems high.

Ours are between 6 and 8 per table. We are having a much small wedding and wanted to fill the room a bit. I would say 8 is good because it’s a good mix but not too crowded.

It depends on the table size.  We had 5 foot rounds with 8 people at the most.  Trying to squeeze anyone else in would have been insane.

@SimplyEuphoric:  it all depends on the size of the tables.  just remember to ensure the comfort of your guests.

what size tables does your venue offer?
