Good lord, I hope that’s too high! I haven’t gotten estimates yet, but if it’s honestly that much, I’m going to have to figure out how to get myself to my stylist rather than vice versa.

I got a lot of estimates for hair and makeup artists for the DFW area for my wedding, and while I think that fee is on the high side, all of the estimates I got were much higher than I expected.  However, if she would just be doing hair and not the makeup, I would go with someone who charges a similar travel fee but does both services to get more of your money’s worth.  For just hair, I think it’s not worth it.

That seems like a bit much, but I also realize the person COULD be losing out on day’s work, which is the downside that gets passed on to you.  My hair stylist is traveling 5 1/2 hours and I’m just paying his hotel room, and he’s switching his weekend so he’s not losing out on money, but we’ve known each other for what seems forever.  Too bad if you’ve been her client for awhile that there isn’t any negotiation.

My hair girl charges a flat rate of 50. But Are wedding is 2 hours away from home, so i offered to pay for gas, expences and hotel. She is also a childhood friend and will be included in the wedding even if she was not doing my hair. So that prob helps. But depends on were you are, that sounds kinda high to me.

The highest rate I was quoted was $2/mile, which is retarded in my opinion.  I don’t understand why they can’t use the standard that the IRS sets for business travel – 52 cents/mile.
