@alyssaC:  You can’t go wrong with a Sandals resort.  My husband and I got married last July, and went to Sandals Antigua.  It was wonderful!  Best part is that they are includsive, so once you are there, you worry about no money unless you want to buy from the locals or take a special island tour, etc…you dont even tip, they won’t take your gratuity.

Congrats!

@GreatGrin:  I’m looking for great places for our honeymoon too, and we’re basically on the same budget as you. I can’t really be any help, but we’re thinking of taking a 1 week cruise in the carribean. I really enjoy taking cruises but Fi has never been on one. I just don’t want to plan out this whole thing thinking he will love it and then actually not like it lol. I also looked into Sandals and other all inclusive resorts like @alyssaC:  mentioned but they’re a bit out of budget for us

FI and I have been looking around, and our criteria for our honeymoon is “someplace we can go that we won’t want to take kids to later when we have them.” haha! So we are thinking somewhere warm…

But you know, Europe isn’t exactly “hot”. Maybe take a trip to the UK?

We just booked our honeymoon yesterday at the Akumal Beach Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico! I am so excited, and it is exactly what we were looking for. Somewhere warm/tropical, all-inclusive, ocean side, and an authentic feel. I would have been happy with a straw tent right on the beach, but my fiance wanted something a little better for our honeymoon ๐Ÿ™‚

Another place that we strongly considered is Maui, Hawaii. I have done my research, and it is the place to go in Hawaii. The only reason that we didn’t go here is because our budget is a bit smaller than yours and we could not afford the airfare.

I hope this helps! Happy hunting ๐Ÿ™‚

Costa Rica! We spent 10 days there in August. I’m not sure your tolerance for heat, but it was in the 80s when we were there and we didn’t have any issues. I needed a jacket on some nights!

Other (colder) ideas:

Iceland –  I hear its gorgeous and I can’t wait to go someday! Only 5.5 hours from NY or Boston, so not TOO far for you!

Buenos Aires, Argentina – The flight is long and sort of expensive, but it’s a great city with lots to do.  August is their ‘winter’ with temps in the 50s I think.

Alaskan Cruise – I did this when I was younger and it was fun and definitely not hot! Gorgeous scenary and with your budget you could do a bunch of fun excursions like glacier walks and helicopter rides!

We’re going to El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya. Check out trip advisor, I depended on that site when deciding on a resort!

@IowaDDS13:

It is honestly the most beautiful place I have ever seen lolol.  The food, drinks, staff, rooms, EVERYTHING. I had not one single complaint… and it looks exactly the same as the pictures they use to advertise it; they are not photoshopped. It was great, enjoy!

Ireland! Or anywhere else in Europe! Won’t be too hot, very romantic, perfect for adventures!

Souther Europe (Spain, Italy, France, Greece) can get kinda hot in July but northern Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, etc.) are much cooler. Ireland is SUPER romantic. PM me if you want my itinerary, I went for 2 weeks!
