    Hello!

I just took 2 tests and found out that I'm PREGNANT!  I'm so happy!

I'd like to make it special for my hubby since this is our first.  I have made reservations at the best restaurant in the city since we both love food.  Does anyone else have any great, unique ideas for how to tell your hubby??

Thank you so much in advance!!

    Congrats again!

I have a friend whose husband is really into biking so she bought him a kiddie trailer thing for the bike and wrapped it up. Or another friend who made a meal of baby things: baby carrots, baby back ribs, etc. And another person who put a bun in the oven every day until her husband finally caught on.

Congrats!  Enjoy every minute of this!  I think when the waiter brings out the check, there should be a little note in it from you saying that you are pregnant.  It should be right in front of the check.  That is something that I would do.  Again, congrats!!!!

Awe - colorcoated what a wonderful idea - or you could get Dad spelt out in chocolate sauce on his dessert!

@eeh - I love the bun in the oven idea but I would never have the patience to wait for him to catch on!

Order a big meal and then tell the waiter it's because you're eating for 2 and see if he catches on. Or you could drop subtle hints througout the night until he catches on.

Awww! Congrats! Can you buy a little onesie that has a daddy saying on it? I'd wrap that up and give it to him as a gift!

My husband is 100% finnish, he's an engineer, and he plays hockey as a goalie. So, I'm having three onesies made up that say something like "My daddy engineered me," one that says baby in finnish with a Finnish flag, and one that says something about the goalie thing. I'm going to put them in his t-shirt drawer one morning to surprise him. I can hardly wait, so hopefully I'll be knocked up soon! And also, CONGRATULATIONS!!!Laughing

My boyfriend made me promise him that when the time comes to do a test, he gets to be there. Which means I can't come up with any fun and exciting ways to break the news! Oh well, I guess I can still pull the "World's Best Grandma" mug trick on my mom, but even that will only work if I beat my sisters to the punch!

I like the idea of finding something your hubby loves and getting him a "baby" version, like the bike-seat thing. Or like in that movie Fever Pitch, Jimmy Fallon's character bought a tiny little Red Sox outfit to show that he was excited to be a dad. Sooo cute!

If you're doing it at a restaraunt, I like Sept2610's idea of the "I love Daddy" onsie.  My friend found out she was pregnant a couple months ago.  She surprised her husband at work with a basket of baby stuff and pink and blue balloons (since it's way to early to know what gender the baby is).

To me, wrapping up a peed-on pregnancy test would be gross.  Hehehe!  I wouldn't want to wrap it, or have my husband unwrap it.  Maybe I'll feel different when I actually get pregnant.  I'm with Janna19 though...I'd probably be so excited I would run out of the bathroom waving the pee stick, ('cause ya know, that's SO much less gross than wrapping it!).

I always thought it would be cute to give him a onesie of his favorite football team. Or whatever it is that he's into... aka. If he's into hunting a little camo onesie or if he's a basketball fan, some little basketball sneaks. You know, something cute like that :)

I've thought about this soooo many times - but more on how I will tell my parents.

I've decided - when it happens - we will take them out to dinner and give them a framed photo of the sonogram wrapped up as a present. I REALLY hope I get to do this - but the problem is, I keep NOTHING from my mom and have such a big mouth! hope i wouldn't tell them before I could do this! lol

    btw, CONGRATS!!

Congrats!!  How exciting!! I can't give any ideas because I would be telling him the second I found out.

eeh2010- I love the idea of saying you're eating for two and the bun in the oven everyday!

I was going to say you could do m&m's that say it's a boy and it's a girl.. or something like that.  But I don't know if you could get them on time.  I like the idea of getting a little baby outfit that corresponds with your hubby's iterests like a baby jersey or maybe a little rocker baby outfit.. whatever your DH likes.

The bun in the oven is best idea ever.  It would be cracking up everytime I put it in the oven.

    This is a great post!!

Oh I love the bun in the oven!

But I'll be telling R before I take the test... he'll be standing right outside the bathroom door!

(Hopefully not for a good long time, of course.)

    Congrats! :D

Sassy- Congratulations.  You'll have to tell us your due date when you know so that we can update the baby list thread!

I wasn't very creative, since I peed on the stick and it turned blue in like 2 seconds and I said, "Honey, oh sh*t, you're not going to believe this..."

Wow, you all are so creative! I love the bun in the oven idea! I'll totally be the person peeing on a stick with my hubby waiting impatiently right outside the door, haha.

It's almost valentine's day, so I think you could find a valentine's day geared toward dads and give that to him at your dinner and see if he gets it when he opens it.  Other than that I love the bun in the oven idea, ha!

When the time comes (hopefully a few years from now) I want to give my husband an A's onesie. He's a huge Oakland A's fan. Not sure if he'll get it right away though. :) Cute, but a little clueless once in a while. I'm sure you all know what I mean.

    These are all great ideas!

I wanted to do something so cool but it didn't happen that way. I wasn't even planning on taking the test but when I realized I was late, I went it took it after the hubs had left for work. When it came out positive, I took a picture with my phone and texted it to him. Unfortunately, it was horrible quality so I had to tell him what it was... Even though it wasn't an exciting way to do it, he was oh so happy!

I'm not pregnant yet, but if I can wait to tell my hubby I would like to do something like this for him (a la Mrs. Lemon): http://www.kimberlymichelle.com/2009/08/27/special-delivery/

Or if I can't wait, that's how I want to tell our families! :)

@Lillindy - That is such a cool idea!!

I like it even more because one of the packages was sent to the LV which is where my hometown resides. :)

EDIT: Oops, I guess the credit goes to Mrs. Lemon. Where at in the LV?
