I got a nice pair from Nine West they are boots though and on sale. Take a look....
Okay. One more requirement I guess. lol. I work at Starbucks. No pretty boots for me. = ( Not that I won't look for funsies!
i bartend part-time and i SWEAR by doc martens. i was able to find a pair of low-top docs at dsw for $60. i used to wear borns because they were SO comfy, but like you...i'd wear them out! i've had these docs for over a year now and they're not even close to being worn out. plus, maybe i'm lucky, but there was never a "breaking in" period. they were comfy from day one.
I go through tons of shoes too, with my job, I recommend Merrell...and for food service type jobs, there are actually tons of cute styles at Shoes for Crews which are non-slip AND comfy.
Danskos!
I work in a lab and am often on my feet for 10 hours straight. I used to wear sneakers to work and then a co-worker convinced my to spend $105 on some danskos. I got the "professional Clog" and they are ABSOLUTELY amazing, I had to buy a second pair in brown. I've had my black ones for about 3 years and they are still as comfortable and supportive as the day I bought them. Most of my co-workers have had theirs even longer. Oh, and I don't just wear them to work, I wear them everywhere! Lots of doctors and nurses wear them too.
No prob! =) You know I will always support something Starbucks related!!!
I second the Danskos! Nurse here....well soon to be taking the boards tomorrow! I've worked three 12 hour shifts in a row and the Danskos are the BEST. They aren't that "pretty" but they work and totally worth the money. Mine were about $100 but I've heard they last for years.....I've had mine for over 2 years.
I swear by Clarks. They can be a little pricy, but I have NEVER worn an uncomfortable pair. Also they tend to have lots of sales. They have individual stores, but they also sell them at Macy's. Best shoe ever!
i bought maryjanes nike shoes i have them in every color and they are really comfortable and pretty...
@otb - i am currently drooling over a pair of clarks right now! At work, we have a really strict dress code as far as shoes and we were JUST approved to wear shoes with straps so I was soo excited!!

lol @ Krissycake. = ) ETA: Where do you work?
Thanks, everyone! I definitly wanted to come here before buying another pair. I've only been working there just over a year. I shouldn't be going through this many shoes! lol. I tend to wear holes into the bottom, and wear out the heel. = (
Either you're kidding or you work for Chuck E. Cheese? lol.
Hahaha, I have actually never been to a Chuck E. Cheese! So yeah, the other one!! =)
Danskos and Sanitas. Physicians and nurses who are on their feet all day wear these day in and day out. They are perfect. In danskos I have the sport clog and a discontinued limited edition (in black).

Sanitas:
When I worked at Starbucks, I wore Sketchers work shoes. Slip-resistant, relatively inexpensive, and one pair would last for like 2 years.

I second, third, or fourth (wherever the count is now) Danskos. They feel amazing and I am on my feet all day, every day. I loved my clogs so much, that I bought a pair of their sandals too. I plan on wearing the sandals to our rehearsal and as my comfy reception shoes! I have an REI membership and credit card, so I usually go there with my dividend and buy them for next to nothing.
This thread has made me want to look at some more shoes...mmm.
I've waited tables at least part-time forever (I decided I wouldn't wait tables while in grad school, so this is the first time I haven't in a while...I think it is a requirement w/ getting a theatre degree to also become a server).
I bought a pair of black (smooth leather) full-shoe Birkenstocks in 2002 and they're still in GREAT shape (easily cleaned and very little sole wear...they put a different sole on their work line) and they're SO COMFORTABLE. They're pricy, but they last forever. I had several server friend who tried Danskos, and they'd roll their ankles in them b/c they have a bit of heel. I like the higher arch support in Birkenstocks too.

Best work shoes ever.
Clarks are where it's at. I have to wear closed toed conservative shoes to work and my Clarks are perfect and very comfortable.
I have to agree with the Dansko fans! When I started teaching, I got terrible foot pain from standing all day. I tried birkenstocks, dr. scholls inserts, crocs (comfy but ugly), and tons more. Finally got my Danskos and I absolutely love them. I can definitely tell a difference on the days I wear another shoe. I've had mine for 4 years and they are still going strong!
I'll jump on the Merrell bandwagon. I have several pairs that are nice enough to wear to work yet super comfy. So for tradeshows I trade in my nice "office" heels for the Merrells and LOVE them :)
I third (at least?) the Dansko clogs! I'm on my feet for hours and never have a problem. I'm also on around year #5, give or take...
I'm with bellamargot! I waitressed for 12 years ... During the first year, I went through 3 pairs of black sneakers ... then i bought a pair of doc martens. I wore the SAME pair for the next ELEVEN years!!!! I only worked seasonally through each summer, but still .... that's a lot of summers!

All right ladies! I've just worn out my 4TH PAIR of shoes for work!!! I'm thinking I must be doing something wrong. The only requirements I have are black and comfy. And not outrageously priced, of course. Please Help!
