I’m sorry you had such an awful experience. Why do you need to return the dress? Can you find a seamstress or a different bridal salon to do your alterations? You would likely be able to negotiate more successfully with a seamstress.

This doesn’t really surprise me–nearly the exact same thing happened to a friend of mine at the DB here. She ended up caving and doing less points on her bustle and spending more than she wanted anyway. 🙁

ugh! I don’t unerstand how anyone is sales would think that is appropriate.  I’m sorry!  I would take the dress and take it somewhere else!  Don’t let them bully you out of your dream dress.  and from what I’ve heard about their alterations messing things up, you would be saving yourself more heartache!

I had a simlar experience with DB alterations yesterday but in Maine. I wanted to walk out and find a new seamstress. I hate that they can’t do anything to “change the integrity of the dress.” I own the thing, now let me do what I want. Also, when she gave me a Wed or Fri to pick up my dress I told her I couldn’t do either since I don’t live in the area and she was so rude. I had to pick a day that minute, no time to even check my schedule. Now there is a good chance I won’t even be able to pick it up and my sister will need to.

I DO NOT recommend them for alterations. Find somewhere else, they will be cheaper and I can guarentee nicer.
