I have been having awful wedding nightmares latetly. I woke up sweating from on this morning. All my vendors were late, my hairstylist only curled half my head, my DJ was mad at me, my Fiance hated my wedding dress, and half the guest list didn’t show up. I wish these damn nightmares would stop!
Is anybody else having nightmares? If so, what are they about?

I had them throughout my entire engagement. Things always went wrong, and I always ended up crying. But they didn’t at all reflect how wonderfully my day went, so hang in there!

I’ve only had one wedding “stress dream” and while it was completely bizzare, I wouldn’t class it as a nightmare—- just random weirdness about sleeping through the wedding, waking up the next day on a yacht with a zillion people, way far out to sea, and everyone wanting me to get married NOW instead of brushing my teeth first. I do occasionally get work stress dreams, and dreams about other stressors in my life, and for the most part I use those as a sign that I need to take a deep breath, and maybe a little time off, and stop thinking about whatever it is that’s showing up in the dream.
Dreams are just your subconcious’ way of purging out all sorts of images, and as such they are horribly random— sometimes I’ll have a dream about something I saw a week earlier, or a month, and it could be as random as a wonky mailbox. I had the chance to talk extensively about dream analysis with a psychiatrist, as a friend rather than as a patient, so we got more into the theory/method than any specifics, but for the most part, it’s your feelings in and immediately after the dream that matter more than the dream itself. Try to focus on how you feel when you wake up— if you’re dreaming that no one turns up but you wake up relaxed and calm, it’s just your subconcious cleaning out your old thoughts, and nothing to worry over. If you’re waking up anxious or stressed, it might be time for a No Wedding Planning Weekend or an afternoon at the spa.

haha in the months leading up to my wedding I frequently dreamt that I slept through the ceremony, or that nobody woke me up in time and I woke up with only thirty minutes to get ready. And sometimes I would show up at the church and realize the wedding was supposed to have taken place the day before and that I missed it entirely!

I have dreams all the time. I am a month and a half out and they are only getting worse. I expected this because when I am anxious and excited about anything that is important to me I have scare dreams. Last week I dreamed that I hired a team of girls to do my hair and makeup and they showed up completely drunk and began drinking the reception alcohol too. So I had to do my own hair and then I got there finally with hair done only to realize that I had never set up the tables. Most of my dreams center around me being late since this is my biggest fear. Everything goes wrong and I miss my own wedding all together while everyone gathers and enjoys without me. It usually leads to me waking up and getting on the computer immediately to email vendors about stuff, confirming dates and times at 3 am. FH thinks I am insane.

I had lots of these leading up to our wedding! I think the weirdest one I had involved my pianist (who was a male) and my soloist (female) deciding to switch places last minute. The soloist didn’t know how to play the piano and the pianist couldn’t hit all the high notes in the songs. It was so strange.
I also had one about my friend not showing up to do my hair on time and all of my bridesmaids and family were ignoring me as I was trying to get ready so I had to do my hair by myself.
Good news is, neither of these happened on the day 🙂

That is crazy! Most of my dreams are about being late or missing my wedding. The recent ones are about people being upset with me. I wonder what that means.

I had my first wedding nightmare last week and my wedding is 5 months away… it seemed a little early for me, but oh well!
Basically, it came down to my sister/MOH snorting cocaine and her head exploding while the decor was all wrong.
Yeah… pretty positive that nightmare of my sister doing cocaine and her head exploding won’t happen.

I just had my first “wedding nightmare” this weekend. I dreamt that our photographer didn’t show up and that I didn’t even realize it until the wedding was over. I was so upset that we didn’t have any pictures of our wedding. And for some reason when I asked around none of our guests had taken pictures either because they all planned on getting them from the photographer. I told me Fiance about this and he couldn’t stop laughing. lol!

Oh man I have been having crazy nightmares too. In last night’s feature, my parents both didn’t show up to the wedding, and we had a huge number of wedding crashers.
