Hubby and I are 16 weeks and 3 days with our first baby and am right around the time where I might be able to start to feel our little babes moving around in there. Tonight and a few nights ago I felt this ever so light bubbling kind of feeling (in the same spot both times), I had to stop what I was doing just to pay attention to it it was that light… Am I completely off my rocker? Was that my baby!? How were your first movements and did you know it was your mini me right away?

Oh and it doesnt last long… maybe a max of 25 seconds. Once it stops I poke my belly to encourage more movement but my baby seems to swim away from the doctors doppler when trying to check his/her heartbeat so i’m not sureprised if he’she is being stubborn for me too. Wouldnt be my child if it wasnt stubborn. lol

Pappy8: Yes the first time I ever felt my daughter was around 18-19 weeks and it felt like gas, and I didn’t know that was her until after I felt the same thing when I was at my 20 week ultrasound. As she got larger, I definitely could tell it was her.

I first started feeling/noticing movement halfway through week 18. They didn’t feel like bubbles or flutters though, they definitely felt like little thumps. I’m on my feet all day at work, I’d notice the little thumps pretty regularly on the drive home. (When I’m up and moving it rocks the baby to sleep, so when I’d sit down to drive home, he’d wake up and start kicking.) Another way I found somewhat surefire was to drink some orange juice in the evening, and then sit back and focus on my belly. Babies like the sugar rush!

LLEU: That orange juice thing is adorable

That’s baby! I first felt my DD around 14w, like a little butterfly in my tummy.

Pappy8: I was about 16 weeks as well when I felt mine the first time 🙂 it felt like little muscle spasms in my uterus though and it would last only a second or two, unless she kicked again in the same spot! Im now 20 weeks and it still feels the same, like muscle spasms but stronger and more often. DH can now feel her movement from the outside as well 🙂

That was probably your baby. I never felt bubbles or flutters, I just felt some kicks at 18 weeks. It was pretty clear that was the baby.
The OJ thing totally works, too. I drank some before my 20w ultrasound and baby was going crazy in there. At my 16w ultrasound she was pretty much sleeping the whole time lol.

Feels like a butterfly or little bubbles, so that was definitely baby. I was kind of mean and shined a flashlight on my belly to get my son to move. Sometimes orange juice would work.

Chocolate gets my little man moving!! I definitely felt flutters at 16 weeks too.

Yup mine started 2 weekends ago and I thought the inside of my sweatpants was tickling my stomach… but I moved them down and sure enough it came back…doesnt last long but its like a soft feather is tickling me in there or maybe like an air bubble is rising. I’ve had it in a couple different spots but as soon as I put my hand he or she moves away lol.

Mine felt like bubbles popping, I was about 16 weeks. At 17 weeks I had a REAL kick! I did lose a lot of weight in the first trimester though, so I think I felt him quite early compared to some first time mums.
