I was at BRU this weekend to start my registry and they said its a 45 or 90 day return policy (sorry, I don't remember which). And if someone orders stuff online and you return it in-store, you have 30 days and get store credit.
Not sure if they have different rules for non-registry items.
Have you checked their website? Most stores include their return/exchange policy on their website.
@sorrycharlie: It is 90 days at both Target and Babies R Us
@julies1949: I know the basic return policy. but sometimes if you get the right person, or in the case of registries, they'll make exceptions. I was just curious if anyone had any personal experience with returning things off their registry that they didn't get a receipt for to see if they were allowed to :)
I've noticed when setting up my registry that some items that are only available online I cannot return to the store. ie bigger furniture items.
Why do you want to return them? From what I"m hearing they are pretty flax on exchanging to different sizes. Still unclear on exchanging different brands. I'll be in Target this week so I'll ask and report back!
@regberadaisy: thanks! I haven't run into this problem yet actually but I'm just curious for future. I'd only exchange for a different size if necessary. My worry is that if people go off registry, and I get let's say 6 boxes of a size I bought some of already, and only 1 box of the next size, that I be able to exchange some of the smaller size for a bigger one, if that makes sense. Unfortunate part is that not many people include gift receipts! Haha.
@sorrycharlie: You should be able to return the diapers at any time without a reciept if you are just exchanging them for a different size. I have done this at Walmart with no problems and the little girl I babysit Mom did this when she was 6-8 months with diapers she had gotten at her shower to Target.
at target, if it is after 90 days, you can do a return without a receipt. they allow you to do these twice per year. (you have to give your driver's license and it is tracked.)

Hello everyone!
Question..wondering based off the recent thread about stocking up on diapers. Wondering if I buy diapers in the wrong size during pregnancy if I can return - and also from showers.
Did anyone have luck returning unopened packages of diapers to either BRU or Target without a gift receipt or sales receipt? Or lets say you do have a receipt - how long will they accept it for (even for store credit).
