    So, I heard on here and through my OB as well that you can expect your baby's birth weight to be close to your birth weight.

    Was this true for you?

    My one SIL who is tinier than me gave birth to 2 healthy baby boys that were both over 9bs! I highly doubt she was a 9lb baby! Of course, she's probably the exception to the "rule". Laughing

    I was just over 6lbs and DS was 8.1... I was definitely MUCH smaller!

    We'll have to see about this baby.

    Oh God I hope not. I'm not pregnant or TTC but I was 3 lbs when I was born. My sister was 2 lbs 4 oz (we were premie twins!)...Let's hope that does not happen with me!

    I was just shy of 8 pounds, but I was over 40 weeks. My baby was just under 6 pounds, born at 39 weeks.

    Side note though- I dated a guy back in college who was 6'8 and like 270 pounds. I asked him once nervously if he had been a large baby. He sighed and said, why does every girl I date ask me that??

    I haven't had my baby yet but I'd be happy if she was the same size as me (7 lbs 2 oz).  My nephew was 8 lbs 10 oz and my SIL is a super small person but she was actually 8 lbs and like 2/3 oz when born.  My BIL was 8 lbs 13 oz so my nephew was kind of in between them.

    @Gabrielle123:

    I think the theory is assuming you were full term?

    Well so far WB has debunked that theory!

    I was a full pound heavier and 3 weeks later than my son, my husband was half a pound heavier and 2 weeks later.  We had been told he was going to be a big baby all along, thank goodness he wasn't too big- zi'm convinced that he ran out of space!

    I was born the day before my due date, and I was tiny -- 6 lbs 1.5 oz.  DH was 7 lbs and a few oz at full term.  At my last ultrasound at 28 weeks they estimated that our baby was already 3 lbs at 28 weeks of gestation.  I'm pretty sure that's quite large, so I'm hoping they were wrong!  If not, then our baby is going to be huge compared to my own birth weight.

    Ooh, I am interested to hear what everyone has to say!  I started a similar thread a couple of months ago about babies' birth weight compared to both parents and got a decent response if you want some extra answers. http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/your-babys-birth-weight-vs-your-own-and-the-fathersoh-god
