25 weeks pregnant, wedding was 2 weeks ago, just got home from our mini honeymoon and now it’s time to plan the baby shower. Talk about a lot going on!!
We are now trying to pick a name. I have like Jackson for a long time but i have a few other names i like as well.
I would like to spell Jackson with a ck and not an x (Jaxon) but I do not want his nick name to be Jack, so then I feel it needs to be Jaxon?? Can it be spelt Jackson and still Jax for short?
Jackson James or Jaxon James
Another name I like is Jameson. Husband’s name is James.. I just love that it would be “James-son”
I also really like Rylan however, we do plan for more kids and I think I would love to name a girl (hopefully) Rylynn. (I also really like the sound of Jackson and Rylynn as brother and sister)

Jackson is my absolute favorite boy name too. Has been since the first time I saw steel magnolias 20 years ago. But I love jameson In your case, since it will be James son! Whatever you pick, it will be perfect

I think these are all nice names, I just wanted to comment on the nickname concern. As his parent, if you do not want him to be called Jack, do not call him Jack or allow others to address him as such. People tend to follow the lead of parents when it comes to nicknames – including children. Once he gets older (middle/high school), he may decide to allow friends to address him as something different. For example….friends named Daniel and Michael. Both decided in high school that they’d prefer to be called Dan and Mike….very few people could alter how they addressed these two, since they’d only ever been known as Daniel and Michael. Don’t be super concerned with nick names, since you’ll set the stage for that if you’d like it to be a certain name. (I love Rylynn for a girl, I think you should save that for a girl!)

I voted Jackson James. I think Jaxon looks like it’s spelt weird and your son will forever be spelling his name out to people. You can definitely still nickname him Jax.
Jameson sounds more like a last name to me and I much prefer Rylynn as a girls name to Rylan as a boys name.

I voted Jackson James. And you can absolutely call him Jax for short.
I like Jameson, but I’m not a fan of Jameson John together. Rylan would be my second choice.

Jackson is insanely popular right now, so personally that would be a no-go for me. Jameson always reminds me of the alcohol. Rylan is nice. Not a fan of Rylynn at all though.

I like the name Jackson, too. I would spell it with the “ck” and write the nickname with an “x.” You absolutely can do that!

soontobehisbride: I don’t think you should have Jameson as an option unless it’s his middle name. My stepsons mom wanted to name him Jayson for the same reason (Jays-son) and my fiance fought her and they changed it, but he even said he is glad that is not his name. His older sister agrees that he would of been picked on later on in life. Just a thought, but Jaxon is very cute and unique. Go with that one!!

I prefer the traditional (and in my opinion, correct) spelling of Jackson. I know a boy named Jackson (he is eight) and he gets called Jacks – which sounds exactly like Jax – so perhaps that’s an option.
Jackson James is perfection.

I voted for Rylan because I’m a teacher and Jackson/Jaxon students have not been good boys at all, and Jameson is a brand of whiskey.

soontobehisbride: Jackson James is nice and pays homeage to your hubby and is spelled correctly. No offense but Jaxon makes my head hurt, just name him Jackson.
Rylan is very trendy and to me , is also a trendy girl name. I think Jackson James is cute but also traditional and won’t hinder him from job opportunities.
And for Jameson..no..it remindes me of the booze in a bad way lol!

Rylan seems like a misspelled Ryan. Jaxon is a name I wouldbelieve would hinder him while turning in resumes. Jameson is whiskey.
