Picking names is so difficult but it will come to you 🙂 We actually settled on a name  for our baby boy but having one hell of a time coming up with a middle name. Nothing seems to flow all that well with it.

We’ve had a boy name picked out for ages, but we’re having the hardest time coming up with a girl name.  Like you, I can’t picture myself calling my potential daughter any of our contenders.

I’m with you!   We have a list of girls names, with it narrowed to our favorite.  We’ve only found ONE single boy name that we can actually agree on.  I LOVE the name, but I can’t, for whatever reason, actually see myself saying the name to my child.  Maybe it’s because I’m really hoping for team pink?  Lol

I like Oliver and Malachi a lot! I’m a huge fan of classic boys names. (And hate anything that sounds like the hero of a genre bodice-ripper. 🙂

If you’re trying to think of some more names, what about older family names, from some of your favorite books or movies, or people you look up to and respect?

Our future son will be called Casimir. We better have a son first, because we have no ideas for girls names!

We had a really hard time picking out a boy name too. My DH wanted Logan but we have friends with a son by that name and I really wanted something different. He also liked Gavin but to me it was too popular. We talked about Alexander but didn’t want people calling him Alex. During a trip to Labor and Delivery one day, I finally said, what about Zander and it’s one we both loved and when he was born the name fit him perfectly.

I did have quite a few on a list:

Saywer, Easton, Marshall, Jack, Carson, Eli, Jacobi, and Jace

@Casimir23:  This is one of my SO’s favorite names! It’s actually like his second favorite, but the two in my mind sound too similar, so I said he had to pick one.

Then he wanted “Casimira” for a girl.

@mrskisstobe:  I love the name Zander – it was at the top of my list!, but DH’s name is Alex (not Alexander) and he HATES it.  BOO!

@morkiemama:  We still get people asking us if his full name is Alexander. We say no, just Zander.  It’s so funny how much the name just fits him 🙂

@mrskisstobe:  I love the name just as it is.  I think it’s awesome!

@MamaHusky3:  I don’t think there is anything wrong with sharing names/nicknames. I come from a big family so its bound to happen! I have a brother and a cousin that share a name and a brother and an uncle that share a name. My husband also comes from a big family and several people share names – granted they are fairly common names like David or Michael but still.

I fell in love with a girls name but DH’s Uncle has a daughter (DH’s cousin) with the same name. Different generations so I may still use it later on…don’t really have to worry this time around as we are having a boy lol.
