yikes, i never knew that cute baby bunnies could cause such drama! a few days ago, one of our dogs “discovered” a bunny nest in our fenced backyard – she brought in one of the babies in her mouth… it was actually alive and fine, and we called a wildlife rescue in the area. they recommended putting a laundry basket over the nest when the dogs were outside and just leave them alone until they left the nest. this worked out pretty well all week, except the baby bunnies started getting bigger and more adventerous and could not be corralled back into the nest! now i don’t know if they are big enough to avoid the dogs — we have been letting the dogs out on a leash, but that’s not a long term solution….
any ideas? if they left the nest, are they big enough (or smart enough?) to avoid my dogs?
