I use the ergo. It’s great for my back. I kind of think that all carriers will be on the warmer side since baby is close to you. Now that DD is older, I’ve been using her stroller a lot more often.

How about a ring sling? Does R have good enough head control for a hip carry?

ThePrincessBride10612:  She’s 8.5 months already! I think we started her forward facing in her stroller at about 5, maybe 6 months old. She likes being able to look around and see everything. She will also nap in there occasionally.

ThePrincessBride10612:  I know alllllll about babies that won’t sleep anywhere but on you! DD still won’t take a nap or sleep at night unless she’s on me/touching me somehow. Ugh! Luckily, she will take naps in her car seat and stroller sometimes.

ThePrincessBride10612:  You can do a front carry with a ring sling, too. It might be just as hot, though! SHe could probably lay her head down on you and sleep in the hip carry if she really wanted to. I don’t know how long you wear her for, but the hip carry is not a great idea for long stretches.

ThePrincessBride10612:  On the K’tan website the other day I saw that they make a warm weather version that has mesh- do you already have that one?

I second the ring sling, we use the maya wrap and DD LOVES IT!!!! Like to a point where she starts crying hysterically when I have to take her out! I love ours but have been eyeing the sakura bloom ones, I hear their linen version is great for warmer weather 🙂

ThePrincessBride10612:  Ugh, I know! I seriously want to cry when people talk about how their babies sleep 12 hours at night in their cribs and take 3 hour naps during the day. We bedshare, and that’s the only way anybody is getting any sleep here! I told DH today that I feel like I haven’t slept in over a year. I’m so tired! I keep saying that nobody ever went to college still bedsharing haha. We’re moving back to California soon, and I think we may attempt to have her sleep in a crib sometime after we get established there. My mom keeps telling me that I might just have to leave DD with her for a couple nights do that she HAS to learn how to sleep in a crib, but I don’t think it will work.

It’s hot where I live, it’s been above 40c this week ( not sure what that is in f, but it’s really frigginf hot.) I wear my dd in our Tula every day. I bought Frogg Toggs ( they’re cooling towels) then I cut them into 3 pieces. I put one piece on her back and one between us. It’s a lot better. They get warm after a while but you just have to take them out and wave them around for a min and they cool down again. You could try something like that and it would work with any carrier you have.
