How adorable!

I really, really want chickens! Unfortuantely, neither my current house or SO’s house are conducive to them. However, we plan on eventually buying a house together and the ability to raise chickens is high on my list of must haves!!

@pecanpie:  SO cute! My kindergarten class actually just hatched chicks. It was adorable!

My student’s mom donated the eggs and offered to let me have some chicks. I declined her offer because even though we have the space, I am afraid the dogs would get them. She took them back to her farm to raise. But now I’m having second thoughts. Where do you keep them? In a coop? Do dogs bother them?

Awww, little peepers! My mom has had chickens for my whole life. Someday I want some, but we don’t have the space. Actually by city ordinance we could have three hens, but when I suggested to MrMojito that we put a coop in our postage stamp townhouse backyard, he was less than impressed.

Do you handle the chicks a lot? If you do they’ll be super friendly and chill. When I was little we had lap chickens. Like if younsat down in the pen they would come and hop in your lap. It was hilarious.

Khalessi is my favorite!

Hope you don’t plan to eat any of them :O

My grandmother always had chickens in her yard and I loved those little birds so much, but they always end up in someones plate (not mine, since i’m a vegetarian).
