So I’m getting married in November and we have talked about me stopping my pill sometime in 2013. However, I am not having ANY baby cravings. I see a baby and I’m like “aww, cute” but I don’t feel like I wish it was my own.
I guess I was just wondering if anyone else went on to TTC without having that “I MUST HAVE A CHILD!” feeling. I more just want to get on with it and start my family before I get into my 30s (I’ll be 28 if we get on with it next year.) More of a calculated decision driven by my brain, as opposed to my biological clock, I guess.
Anyone else the same??

@miss_blondie86: I don’t feel like I MUST or like I wouldn’t say it’s extreme. I feel more nervous and excited….more nervous hahaha. But I definitely have baby rabies and WANT a baby.

I totally see what you’re saying. Do you really want children, or do you feel that it’s something that you should do/get on with? You’re still young, you could wait til you’re 30 and see if you feel any more eager? Otherwise, best of luck to you! If/when you become pregnant, you may feel super excited and ready once reality sets in!

@bigcitybee: I definitely want babies. Just don’t know whether I have to wait for the “omfg put a baby in me NOWWWWW!!” feeling hehe

I don’t think you neccesarily have to have crazy baby fever, but if you aren’t 100% in love with the idea of having a baby now, doubt only gets stronger when you get pregnant. Have you thought about waiting a year after married life to get settled in and see how you feel. I know I don’t have baby fever until after we bought our house and got married,

Don’t worry, I won’t be getting pregnant unless it feels right.
I think my question was a bit misunderstood. I want to have babies and I’m sure that when next year comes around, I will be “ready” – but I’m wondering if anyone else was “ready” without having crazy baby-cravings hehe. If you know what I mean…

I go through periods of baby cravings. I’m not in one right now. I love kids though and know I want them. We both want them. We are starting TTC next month. I think as long as you know you want them you don’t have to be craving one right at that moment.

My baby rabies seems to come and go, Fi and I will be planning sometime mid 2013 after our wedding, it drives me crazy to wait that long though.
I think that if you can get away without feeling that crazy baby rabies feeling, your getting off scott-free cuz when i get the “craving” i feel like a sex crazed woman and Fi goes into hiding hahaha

@miss_blondie86: I so know what you’re feeling! We plan on starting to try at the end of summer. I’ve had been excited since our wedding in October but it’s never been “OH MY GOD PUT A BABY IN MY BELLYYYYYYY” Just excited, nervous, anxious. I go through bouts where I feel like I have a stronger YEARNING and the baby isle at cvs makes me wish it was time already. But never the baby rabies. We also want to have a lot of kids (well, a lot by today’s standards. 4.) so part of it is also let’s start now because we’re 28. I don’t think taking that into consideration means you don’t WANT to have kids. Just that you’re planning ahead 🙂
