Haha well its my husband who has the real baby fever!!! Sometimes people will ask us “when are you guys having kids?” and my husband will look at me and go “tomorrow?” uhhhh yeah no we’ve talked about this bud.

We agreed to have a couple years of marriage before TTC. Plus we are just 25 and 26, not saying that we’re too young to be parents because plenty of our friends are parents by now, but that there isn’t a rush either.

I get sort of warm and fuzzy thinking about certain things, like how fun it will be for my husband to take pics of my growing belly, how we will surprise our families and friends with the news (because they will be SO happy too… especially his parents), and decorating a nursery, giving this little precious life a name and a future… and I know he’s going to be a great dad and it will be SO. ADORABLE.

But any warm and fuzzy thought I have is just as quickly replaced with the idea of little sleep, no extra money, no big expensive romantic vacations, no drinks with my girlfriends, and poop. Lots of poop and drool.

Soooooooooo… clearly I am ok to wait a couple more years!!!!!!!!!

@katiecat08:  I am absolutely not ready to be a parent in the slightest, I can barely keep a houseplant alive and am super cranky without sleep.

That said, I’ve been watching a lot of Call the Midwife recently and there’s something quite taking about all those little smushed faces and tiny hands and gurgly noises.

@katiecat08:  I’ve always gotten excited about being a mom someday (even when I was a really little kid). It’s even more exciting now that we’re almost at a point where we want to start trying – and when I say that, I mean 3 years away. Lol! 3 years doesn’t seem too long after all this time though.

I have a running list in Word of names I like for boys and girls. I consult SO every once in a while about it, but the list is mostly just for fun. The two of us will have to work out a system for naming the little nuggets when we actually are expecting.

@katiecat08:  awwwwwww that is incredibly sweet!  I was the one who had a dream not long ago that we had a baby girl and in the dream i was just in AWE of how perfect and precious and amazing she was… I told my DH and his eyes got real big and excited haha.

I have told him time and time again that I do look forward to being a mom someday, and that I will be a good mom (well the best one I can be!) and that just because TODAY and RIGHT NOW I’m not all about it, doesn’t mean I won’t really be ready when the time comes.  I think he gets worried sometimes that I won’t ever get there if I’m not there now, and I have to remind him that no, I just know myself, and I’m not ready haha.

@Sunnyday278:  +1!  I got all googly eyed the other week and DH and I were talking about such things, then the next day all I could think of was yup, you guessed it – POOP.

I am only 21, not even married yet and I am sure I want to wait another 5 years before TTC but I get excited too for sure!

The thought of a little person, half me half the person I love the most in the world is amazing. Besides FI is great with kids, and it is so sweet when I watch him play with our friends children, I can’t imagine how amazing he’ll be with our kids.

THIS! I love Kids, but I’m really lost as to how my 20s is going to turn out. Im in Professional school, getting married at the end of the year, turning 25 in November, hoping to land a residency program or work-so im looking at 1-2 more yrs of low pay, possibly. FI  will be working all that time though, he is 26 at the moment. But with the hefty loans I have, Im not sure how we can throw a baby into that chaos if I want to be loan free by 30… FI loves kids and wants to start TTC 2 years in-some days I think its an excellent idea-hey, cant wait forever right? Other days Im ecstatic about the idea of being preggo at 27, and willing to do what it takes to make it work. I mean, my mom had my older sis at 26….Other days, I think-why work so hard all these years to obtain a doctorate, finally get to where I want to be career wise and then throw a big responsibility in there?
But then I do want to be a mom….Decisions, decisions…

@ddstobe2015:  Oh I totally get you! DH and I are well on our way at this point, at least it SEEMS that way, to be setting us up career and finances wise.  But my hope in the two years we wait to TTC is that we pay down a bunch of debt and set ourselves up to know where we are going to hopefully permanently settle and buy a house.  Pretty big stuff all the while we’re thinking of having our first!

But, as I get told over and over and over again… you’re never REALLY perfectly set up to have a kid. (I mean I’m sure some people are, but not most.) There’s always one more loan you COULD pay off, or one more vaca you WANT to take, or one more raise you would like to get, we haven’t foudn the perfect house yet, etc etc etc.  People tell me that when you’re emotionally ready you will be ready and since there’s no “perfect” time to have a kid, have a kid and figure it out as you go lol.

You’ll figure out what’s right for you I am sure! Or sometimes the decision is made FOR you, but… ya know.
