@megz06:  So, her husband made an asshole comment.  You already have established that he’s someone whose opinion does not matter to you.  Sure, she shouldn’t have repeated it to you, but this does not seem worth stewing about.

Baby fever and nesting are two different things.

To me, “baby fever” is when you have a strong urge to get pregnant, have a baby, and be a mother.

Nesting is when you’re preparing the environment for a child. For lots of women who nest, there is a lot of cleaning, organizing, and picking just the right position for furniture. It doesn’t usually look like regular cleaning and decorating, though. It’s more instinctual. Nesting usually happens when someone is already pregnant.

@megz06:  I think it is ridiculous to get so worked up about something a person you dislike with a drinking problem said. also who cares? nesting vs baby fever is just not that big of a deal and if she wants to think of herself as nesting, let her. it sounds like the girl doesn’t have a lot of awesome stuff going on in her life and in no way is it hurting you to let her use whatever phrase she wants.

@megz06:  Sorry, I genuinely missed the question in all of the bold comments, but thanks for the sarcasm.  Wow.

Baby fever is obvious by its title. To me, nesting is making your home. I don’t even think it has to have anything to do with kids.

@megz06:  I think they’re just different.  A woman who is pregnant is probably going to be focused on more practical things (getting a car seat, figuring out who will watch the baby etc).  Baby fever is more like picking out adorable outfits and making quilts – the fun stuff, not the necessities.  They aren’t mutually exclusive, so some people are into both the practical stuff and the fun stuff, and some aren’t.

@whoa_its_ash:  Glad I could help with some perspective 🙂
