I’m not pregnant yet, but we’re TTC. There’s two names I really really like lately for a girl…Hera and Isis. I just LIKE them..I can’t explain it. My husband isn’t a big fan. Alas….
What do you guys think? Lame?

I am not crazy about either of them, but she will be your baby. Only you and your hubby have to agree. I am a traditionalist, though. I have Ben and Natalie. So take my comment for what it’s worth!

Lol @ the last poll option. These names aren’t my style, but I like Isis over Hera.

Neither work for me. But it’s not my kid. FWIW, isn’t ISIS the name of that Islamic militant group currently taking over Iraq?
Also, it reminds me of my favorite show, Archer. Mr. LK is advocating that we name our future child Sterling because of that show. haha … Sorry for that random tangent.

If you follow mythology Isis was a much loved goddess.
Hera was very jealous and hateful. I wouldn’t want to be named after her lol

LOL Yeah…we’re medieval reenactors so less traditional names seem to abound in our social circle. DH’s friend named their daughter ‘Huntress’…that took a while to get used to but she’s 4 now and it doesn’t feel odd anymore. Another friend named his son Percival. Another named his new baby Finn.
I have a smattering of favorite names. I like Isabella too. Thanks for everyone’s opinions 🙂

irishphoenix: How about Hawthorn ?
I’d suggest something flower-based in general, but slightly off the wall – to appeal to your medieval reenactment side.

Ooh, I love Isabella. And if you are set on an “H” name that isn’t all that common, I like Harper.

No snark – I swear to god but Isis is a popular stripper name. I’m not proud that I know this fun fact….I just do.

lol Derp…good to know. We probably won’t go with either Darling Husband hates them.

If you love medieval why not something like Guinevere? Or one of these less-known ones?
I don’t care for either. But I like Hera over Isis.

Isis is the name of the dog on Downton Abbey so that’s all I can think of when I hear that name.

I’m sorry but I gotta chime in and say that ISIS is literally what the rebel group in Afghanistan calls themselves. Soooo…. my vote is Hera.

Neither, sorry 🙁 Hera was a jealous b*tch and Isis was an Egyptian goddess, which always reminds me of Anubis who had the head of a jackal, plus the Islamic extremist connection. If you’re into mythology, how about Persephone?
