I LOVE both names. They are classically beautiful!

I don’t like the vowel sounds together (the end of Clara and the beginning of Elizabeth)… it seems difficult to ennunciate properly.

A friend named her daughter Clara Madeline. Again, classically beautiful names but, IMO… a little easier to ennunciate.

When I hear clara, I immediately think of a cow for some reason, so I vote no.

Yes!  Classic, respectable, pretty, non made up, non botched spelling… yes!

@Cory_loves_this_girl:  A cow? LOL. In my book, that would be one very sophisticated cow. 🙂 I think it’s a very elegant name. It’s funny how each person has different associations with sounds/names. Variety is good, though.

@Cory_loves_this_girl:  Ha ha ha! So funny how an association like that can ruin a name (for a human, anyway). I have this rule that I will never name my child anything if I could see myself using it for an animal. For instance, I like the name Jake. But to be truthful, I could totally name a dog that. So I can’t do that to my future son. I really love the name Charles Ryan (and my grandpa Charlie was pretty awesome), but my fiance isn’t too keen on it because there are two guys at work named Charlie and Ryan and apparently they have ruined those otherwise wonderful names.

I think both names are adorable, however I agree with whoever said the thing about the vowel at the end of the first name and at the beginning of the second. It kind of makes it all run together, and I’m afraid people might often think her name is Claire Elizabeth instead of Clara.

@mrsztobee:  Beautiful name. I don’t mind the two vowels. (clarA Elizabeth)

I naturally revert to saying Clare Elizabeth. I think it is easier to say. But I think the names are beautiful!

I think it’s very pretty written, but a little awkward to say.
