I’m in baby mode. We can’t TTC for another few months, maybe longer. We want to wait until we’re in a really good place financially.
But I have baby fever. Really bad. So I want to talk about baby names.
I love the name Ava. But I’m not sure it goes with our last name. I want to protect my identity so I won’t say my last name, but it sounds sort of like Elverine. Does Ava Elverine sound bad together?
Also, should a nickname sound good with a last name? For example, if a person was named Nicholas Brickton, Nick Brickton maybe doesn’t sound the best.

@MrsGatito: I have baby fever too but we recently made te decision to put off TTC/adoption for 2 years after the wedding so I know how you feel. I could talk about baby names all day long.
I said Ava Elverine out loud, and it sounded pretty good. I think you should go with a 2 or 3 syllable middle name to rund it out. Ava Elizabeth Elverine sounds great, and so does Ava Mary Elverine (Elizabeth and Mary were the first 2 nmes I thought of). Apparently a name sounds the most pleasing when the first, middle and last names are all a different number of syllables ranging from 1-3. It doesn’t matter which order the syllables go in.
I think Nick Elverine sounds good as well. Elverine is fine for nicknames, as long as you don’t have a daughter named Elodie or Elizabeth and call her Ellie Elverine. Actually, I kind of like Ellie Elverine :).
