So and I were talking about baby names! :D I was so shocked he was for it!!
His name is Joseph Hays and I REALLY love the name Joseph. But I do not want to call our son a JR. We decided for a boy Joseph Benjamin Hays. His best friend/ brother's name is Benjamin and he promised him he would name his boy after him :) (so cute!) For a girl we decided Amelia Arrwin Hays. Amelia is my moms first name :)
Even tho we are not even close to have a baby it was still fun and oh so cute!!
Have any of you and your SO, FI and hubbys picked out your future baby names?? :)
@eeerika22: can you tell me how you would pronounce your girl's middle name? I hate pronouncing someones name incorrectly! lol The names you guys picked are very cute and meaningful. :)
@MissCallieJean: aww thank you! haha it would be just like it is spelled (i think :/) (ARR-WIN) lol ARR as in like a pirate haha and just WIN.
@eeerika22: that's what I thought, just wanted to make sure! Your child will have a nice name boy or girl! :)
oh yes. we have totally discussed this.
boy: Elias Walter LastName (totally named after Walter Elias Disney... but i got away with it because Walter is a name passed down to all first born boys in my family)
girl: Arya Marie LastName (or) Serenity Ann LastName (Arya from 'Game of Thrones' and Marie is my mom's middle name, Serenity from 'Firefly' and Ann is my last name)
That's so awesome! My FI's dad passed away from a heart attack when FI was 6 so we are naming our first boy after him, Joseph Anthony :) :)
@rosworms: I love your names! How do you pronounce your first girls name (Arya) is it ar-ee-ya or Ar-ya??
@Iloveyourlovethemost: awww thats really wonderful. My SO's name is Joseph Anthony :)
We have discussed this and we cant wait to have children! We are just deciding how to go about it because of my infertility. Adoption or treatment first - we are happy to do either.
Anyways - to the point. For a girl, we like
Vivienne Charlotte
or Veronica Elizabeth (elizabeth after Fis mom who passed away, his sister, and also my great grandmother)
For a boy it is just about certain - Matthew Lee, Fi's middle name is Matthew, and my fathers middle name is Lee
@hismm: those are beautiful names! :) I wish the best for you and your FI! :)
Haha my FI and I talk about this ALL the time! We are FAR from finding a boy's name we both like. So far Jon, Paul, and Sam are are "ok contenders." I like Charlie but my FI doesn't :( For girl names we like Sophie and Sara. But we're like 5+ years from having kids!
Hahaha oh FI and I have TOTALLY done this! We can't agree on boy names but for a girl we both adore Lily (would be short for Lillian, and runner up is Natalie). It came up because FFIL once made a statement saying we "have" to name kids after his parents....which lead to me at home making it clear to FI that there's no way I 'have' to name my kids anything and certainly not those names (Ruth and Jerry....sorry if you love those names but they're just not for me!).
This is actually the first time I've admitted this to anyone! I told FI we shouldn't tell people because they'll think we're trying to get pregnant soon.
@Ms.GoodEarth: yeah im think 5+ years too (which makes me sad) :( but at least I dont feel craxy for picking out the names already! haha :)
@bearlove: yeah I dont blame you. That is something you wait forever for to share with you and your hubby! :) Yeah I dont think I would tell family cause I dont wouldnt want them to think we are planning to as well.
My FI and I have talked about it, I jokingly said if I have to push them out I should name them. He agreed to it! LOL
I have two girls names I like: Addison Elizabeth or Quinn Addison Elizabeth. Lately I really am leaning towards Quinn. (Elizabeth is my mom's name).
For a boy I'm choosing Noah Gregory. (Gregory is his dad's name).
@eeerika22: your pirate comment made me chuckle. my and Fi have done the baby name thing loads of times. my sons name is Antony Thomas and my angels name is Jessie. if we have any more our little girl will be name Lucy Glynis ... my mums name is Glynis and she has 9 grandchildren already and wishes for one to include her name and if we have a boy his name will be Aaron Paul, Paul is FI's dads name.
Every name I pick out FI says "But then people will call he she (insert nickname here). So I said fine, we will just give our kids a one letter name, so they can't make a nickname out of it! ;)
BUT in all reality, for a girl we like Bethany no middle name picked yet
for a boy Benjamin Charles or Jared Charles
I haven't really spoken to him but...
For girls I've always liked Maryanne (my mum is Rosemary and my middle name is Anne) I also like Rosaleigh, Erica, Katherine.
Boys, I like Matthew (but I'm not keen on Matt) but I kind of like the Jr thing. SOs middle name is his fathers; my brothers middle is my fathers and my other brothers is John which is a family name been passed down 250 years. We'll probably mix up old family names until we find something we like. I like Ambrose (another family name) but I'm not sure that'd go down too well.
So I guess we'll see.
Yes, FI and I are a little too excited to have kids one day :)
My FI's name is William and it's a family name so we will use it for our boy. My FI also loves the name Kale and even though I am not a huge fan I agreed to William Kale. I think it has a nice ring to it and Kale is growing on me ... :)
For a girl I have always loved the name Ellie. I was researching the meaning of names a few weeks ago and found out that in some cultures Ellie is actually derrived from the names Elaine and Alice. I instantly got cold chills because my grandmothers names are Elaine and Alice! I knew it was meant to be and I want to name our girl Ellie Grace.
We discussed this the other night. We came up with a girl name: Olivia Rose (Rose after my grandmother), but no boy name. He said it was up to me, but honestly, I have no idea. I like Liam, but that's about it.
@theredhead: ellie and kale are such cute names!
@MissPumpkinPie: i LOVE the name liam!
Love the names ladies!
No offense, but can we try to keep the baby talk out of the general forums and leave it with the baby talk?
I'm trying so hard to avoid the thousands of baby topics here. We very recently found out that my husband is sterile. A total blow and I'm really struggling with seeing baby posts everywhere.
We talked about it when we were 18 once! I bring it up occassionally, but I'm sure we'll change our minds by the time we actually have kids.
Boy:
We both like the name Jack K (Lastname). DH's middle name is K (yes, just the letter K), and his father's middle name is Kay, so we'd like to continue the tradition.
Girls:
There are so many girls names I like!! Here's what we are considering:
Annie Kate
Annie Caroline
Amelia Ann
Caroline (middle name suggestions please?)
My grandmother, mother, and myself all share Ann as a middle name, and if we have a girl I would love to continue that tradition as well but all of the first names I like don't lend themselves well to Ann as a middle name
DH and I have 2 girl names and 2 boy names picked out:
Hadley Paige
Elley Katherine
Nathan Dean
Trevor Michael
@shambley: I would do one syllable for the middle name for Caroline. Jane? Anne? May?
@MapleBecky: I am sorry....I thought that all the topics got posted to the beehive and i only tagged pregnancy and relationships on it. I am fairly new to this site and im not sure how to not post in beehive. Im very sorry for the news. I wish you and your husband the best.
@eeerika22: don't worry about it, I've been here almost a year and still post stuff to the wrong place.
And besides, if it's bumped, it's on the front page anyway. So if people have a huge issue with some of the topics on this site, they should think about joining a site that doesn't discuss those topics.
We've already pretty much figured out names (we're both picky), though we won't be TTC for another year or so.
Girl: Violet Harper
Boy: Vincent Graham
oh, and names!
just cause I love baby names :)
Right now our names for boys include:
Jack Lawrence (DH's grandpa's name, Lawrence=his middle name, and Dad's name)
Nicholas Louis (His mom's middle name is Louise, and a great-grandfather was named Louis)
Connor Lee (Lee is is dad's middle name and the middle name for the man I consider my grandpa)
Zachary Luke (hmmmmmmmm nothing special here, just like the names!)
Emma Lynn (Lynn is my middle name)
Charlotte maybe Leeann? (recently fell in love with the name Charlotte, and as mentioned, Lee has meaning, and Ann is my mom's middle name.
I'm going to have to have lots of babies to use up all these names, lol!
@hismm: Vivian was my great-grandmother's name :) I love the classic elegance of the name!
@hismm: I love the names Vivian and Lucille. They're so classic. (Can anyone tell I'm a huge I Love Lucy fan?)
