sara79:  LOVED THEM!!!!!!!! they were so great, my daugter wears/wore almost all Carter’s brand, so that’s where hers came from. However I do know Gerber has quite a few and I know they are sold at the Wal-Mart. lol.

We never used mittens and never had a scratching problem. Also I felt like he wanted to have his little hands free! I wouldn’t go crazy looking for them because it might end up that your baby doesn’t need them. For baby #2, I will have some mittens on hand if we really need them, but it’ll be hot then anyway so no long sleeves.

We did LOVE them for the first 2 months! Our son would scratch up his little face without tHem! We had a hard time finding them as well, we bought them from Carters store and Kohls carried the Carter’s brand as well. Other than that, we bought some of the separate little mittens to use too from buybuy baby. They definitely were more of a pain to use though! Wish I could help more…we had problems finding them too! Although if u like the gowns that have mittens they have those by gerber at Walmart and buybuy baby. We just didn’t really like the gowns. If u find them post here so I know for the next little one! 🙂 good luck!

I don’t have a baby and have absolutely nothing useful to add to this thread, but I just have to say that the title of this thread just warmed my heart.

I mean, could there be anything cuter on this earth than a baby in a onesie with built-in mittens??

We use them at the hospital and I, personally, cannot stand them. The sleeves are always too long and the little mitten part never seems to stay in place. They get the job done, I suppose, but in a very cumbersome way. I suggest buying a few pairs of mittens to use instead of tons of mittened onesies (just think of how many you will go through each day!). Like some PP have said, your baby may not need/like them. They might hate having their little hands covered or be a finger sucker. Keep your options open.

Gerber and Carter are the easiest to find (Walmart, Target, BabiesRUs, Khols) but what we ended up doing just because there was a limited selection is a bit of DIY with socks. If you get longer infant tube socks and put them on under the shirt/jammies/whatever they work just as well (if not better since they can’t wiggle their little fingers out of the cuff). Plus you can get plain socks and still have cute onesies and it’ll match.
