I need your help Ladies! I had my son 2 years ago and for the life of me I cant remember what the best and most useful gift I got was. I remember the most un-useful gifts. I got wayyyy to many bibs, 0-3 month clothes, and things that you only use once or twice. My problem is that a really good friend of mine is having a little girl. This is her first child and her baby shower is next week. I reallllly want to get her things that she will actually need. I feel as thought way too many people just buy whats there and whats cheap and dont actually put thought into what would make the mothers job a little eaiser. So far I’ve gotten her:
4 outfits (all at least 12mo)
Baby Tylonal and Gas drops
Anyone remember what their most useful gift was??? Or have any ideas of what a good gift would be???? Thanks!!!!!! =)

We just had my sister’s baby shower and I bought her a bouncer. (along with alot of other things) Anyway, they are not too expensive and she uses it all the time.
It really depends on how much you want to spend. Does she have a registry? If so, I would buy something from her registry. That way you will know exactly what she wants or needs.

I agree, if she has a registry, pick up something from that. I received almost nothing from my registries, and it was frustrating because they only contained things that I needed.
And you’re right. I received way too many 0-3 month clothes, receiving blankets, and washclothes. We’re still getting clothes too. Seriously, my daughter is set through at least the first 6 months of her life. As much as I love how many clothes we’re getting, it’s a little overwhelming, and I don’t know if we’ll get around to using half of them when the time comes.
What I really appreciated receiving were all the bath supplies, safety kits, any diapers or wipes, and bottles. More sleepers would have been nice, because I think everyone was looking at the cute everyday clothing instead of what the baby would sleep in at night. I also love the bottle warmer, because it just makes it easier at night, but obviously this would only be a good idea if your friend plans on bottle feeding. I would have loved to receive a Diaper Genie or something similar, because it’s a hassle to walk downstairs to the garage to throw diapers away at night.
