I’m hosting 3 baby showers right now and I’m about to go nuts!  3 cousins all prego and due within weeks of each other! LOL

We did the first one last week and it was for a boy.  I found these really cute invitations on Etsy that have a stork on them and are tied up in a brown and white polka-dot ribbon.  So we took the theme from the ribbon.  We cut out brown, white and sage green dots of 3 different sizes and asked the guests to write a wish for baby and parents to be.  Then we hung them from a ribbon we stretched over the food area.  I got chocolate cupcakes with a white fondant dot as the focal piece for the food area.  The other hostess used polka-dot ribbon to tie around the party favors.  Very cute

The second one is Snug as Bug for a girl.  I found the invitations on simplybabystuff.com.  I then found butterflies in different colors to hang from the ceiling over the food area and to decorate floral arrangements with.  I also bought butterfly and flower cookie cutters and plan to make finger sandwiches using the cutters to make them into the shapes.  I also got a children’s book that is about a bug that I’m going to ask people to sign and write a message to the baby.  This will serve as the guestbook.  The cake will also fit the theme but I’m not in-charge of that part so I hope it matches 🙂

The third one is Jimmy Buffet theme because it is a boy and they are naming him Fin.  We are having it in the backyard around the pool.  We plan to have a tropical feel with the food/drinks and decorations.  I also found the invitations on simplybabystuff.com.  Little baby swimming under the water.

Hope that helps!

I’ll include some pictures from both of my showers. Maybe they will give you some inspiration.

The first shower was duck themed, because we did not know the gender for sure, and it seemed to be a good neutral.

The second was almost pregnancy themed. You might be able to see the image on the napkins and plates. If not, and you want to see them, I can post them again. The same image was used on the cake.

i have a friend who did the same theme for her nursery as her shower (winnie the pooh). that way, she could keep some decorations to decorate the nursery with.
