I felt a little weird posting this in the pregnancy updates thread because I don't want to steal their thunder.  I just wanted a thread where we can share our baby updates!  I'll go first (you guys can add more categories too!):

    MightyBaby

    Age: 1 month!

    Weight: 10lbs!

Milestones: Outgrew her first onesie this week.  No more Gerber newborn size onesies.  :-(  She also outgrew newborn diapers.  She's on to size 1 diapers!  She had her first smile a week and a half ago, and now we're able to prompt smiles by cooing at her or tickling her ribs.

Sleep:   Longest stretches are about 4 hours now!  Woohoo sleep!

    Me

    Weight Lost: 25lbs

Milestones: Got the jogging stroller out and went for a four mile walk this week.  DH and I plan to do it daily!  Still in maternity clothes though...wish I could fit back into my jeans, but my thighs aren't cooperating. >:-I

What about the rest of you new Momma Bees?

    Cecilia-

1 month old yesterday, weight 7 lbs and change (still in premie/newborn diapers)

Social smile really catching on in earnest, starting to be a loud sleeper-grunts, coos, goose noises (all developmentally normal for this age).  Definitely able to regard my face and recognizes my voice.

Sleep:  no sleep til Brooklyn (or at least during the day).  It's a trade off because our first nighttime sleep generally lasts 5-6 hours, then we get 3 hours after that.  The hour or so before bedtime can get pretty fussy because she's so tired, but I'll live with it to get 6 hours of straight sleep at night!

    Me:

Weight loss: 16 lbs to go.  Engagement ring back on!

Pumping 6-7 oz at a time.

We walk every night (when it's not raining), but I'm ready to start couch to 5K.  I just wish that the breast area didn't hurt so badly when trying to run!

Hey Janna - "No Sleep Til Brooklyn" is from a Beatie Boys song.  Good song.  Now I have it stuck in my head!  This is a good thread.  Yes, pictures would be good.  Babies are so cute and I'm looking forward to when my FI and I can have them.

And yes, the reference "No Sleep to Brooklyn" was a reference to the Beastie Boys, which I reference nightly when I wake up!

You have the same swing that we registered for! Do you like it? Does Cecilia?? Did you get anything else in that same system?

I do like the swing.  I would have loved one that plugged in to the wall, but ultimately safety won out and we picked this one with a 5 point safety harness.  This one rated very well for safety, and was on sale at Babies R Us when we were looking for swings.  We didn't get anything else in the same system.  We actually brought Cecilia to the store and tried out all the swings and this was definitely the one she liked the best!

I will warn you that it was kind of a pain in the a$s to put together, but we got it done!

FMK, your baby is so sweet!

If you guys want to check out MightyBaby's pics, we have them up here.

We had to make her her own website because my dad is too computer illiterate to check out my Facebook album, LOL.  So my mom just made that their IE homepage so he just has to open IE and he can see pics!

MS I've learned that if I have a few sips of wine before I pump (ie relax) I get a ton of milk.  I've always had a lot of milk, but using a hospital grade pump really helps.   I'm really trying to sock milk away for when I go back to work in September, because I'll be working long, long hours and some overnight shifts.

@Mrs. DG- Good job on the pumping! My ONE thing that was non-negotiable was breastfeeding for the first year. And guess what, DS was not gaining weight. I was pumping ALL day, chugging water, drinking dark beer and wine, taking fenugreek, anything I could do to produce more! At 4 months I could only pump 12 oz. a day. Not good. I eventually switched to formula, to help him gain weightCry But I swear, he has never been sick. Not once and I attribute that to the 4 months of breastmilk he got!

@MrsDG: Yeah, I'm a little worried about going back to work also.  I have to return in July (maybe I can push it to the END of July, but still!).  I'll try the glass of wine thing (or figure out something else to help me relax).  That could definitely be part of the problem since I'm so nervous about having enough!

    Roddy Baby

    Age: 2 weeks 4 days

    Weight: 8lbs 2oz

Milestones: Her belly button fell off! It came off the other morning when I was changing her onesie.

Sleep:  She had one night where she was asleep for 5 hrs. We were so exhausted we didn't even realize it or wake up ourselves. Beside that one blissful night, she is sleeping every 2 - 3 hours at this point.

    Me

    Weight Lost: 22lbs

Milestones: Slowly starting to fit into some clothing that my belly out grew in the last few months. Still in Maternity clothes as well. The pants, skirts and dresses work best with my c-section incision.

Because the weather has been too hot, like well over 90 degrees, I haven't had the chance to do much walking outside with the baby. Also, Friday I just got the go ahead to drive again. Yesterday, I drove to the store and it felt so weird. When I hit 9 months no one allowed me to drive and then after the c-section, I was ordered not to drive for two weeks so it has been a lont time.

Speaking of the c-section. My incision is healing properly and I am quite active and have been since the 3rd day post surgery.

So Baby Roddy and I are doing great!

    @future mrs kirsch:

    SO handsome!

    @RoddyBride09:

Beautiful! Is her name Saya? that's such a beautiful name. What's the meaning behind it?

Just found out from FMIL that FI's cousin (her, FI & FBIL are the only ones in the family w/o kids) is expecting. Told FMIL that maybe she will have the twins! FMIL thinks FI and I are DEF having the twins. Surprised

In his family there has been a twin for every other generation and this is the generation for it. Still no twins.

@Gerbera - yes, her name is Saya (Sigh-ya) and thanks! Her daddy picked it out.

It's not the best story on the meaning of her name but I will try to explain it. Her Papi (dad) is infatuated with the Japanese culture especially anything Samurai related as he collects Samurai swords and has been involved with martial arts all his life. A 'Saya' is the sheath or protector of the Samurai blade. He didn't think 'Saya' was appropriate for a person's name until the 'Blood +' anime came out where the main female character's name was Saya. Ever since then he loved the name and apparently claimed that 'Saya' would be his first daughter's name no matter who he married...  Funny part is that I didn't hear this story until after we both decided on the name, lol... Men!

Here's a few more things about it...

@Gerbera - Twins would be awesome!!

Everyone in my family thought I was going to have twins as well because there are twins on both sides of the family and noone in my generation had them yet. Well I guess we will have to see when we decide on having more children.

    Good luck to you!

    MightyBaby

    Age: 2 months

    Weight: 12lbs 11oz

Milestones: Got her first series of vaccinations today.  :-(  Her legs are sore and it was really hard to watch.  But we know it's for the best!  We're going to focus on tummy time for the next month, as she isn't yet able to lift her head, because we haven't given her the chance to practice.

Sleep:   Still keeps us up during her "witching hour" (between 10pm and 2am) but we're hoping we can work with that once she turns three months old.

    I guess I should make a 2 month update :)

    Age: 9 weeks

    Weight: 10 lbs

Milestones: Now we've got a giggle in addition to the social smile.  Drooling more.  Just found her feet this morning... and they are fascinating to her!

Challenges: Cecilia is on bottle strike.  She won't take it no matter what.  We're stressed about this.  Also, any time I leave her she screams the whole time.  Next week I have to be at work half days.  I'm worried about this!

Sleep:  The other day she slept 10 hours and I got really stressed that something was wrong, but it can be really variable.  Last night she woke up twice.

    Me

Weight Lost: 11 lbs to go-- and it's getting really really hard at this point.  I'm just stuck!

Milestones: Going back to work part time this week.  I have to revise the paper I'm working on, so this is a non-negotiable :(

    Ohh I wanna join!

    Age: 2 months

    Weight: 9lbs 12oz

Milestones: He cracks up laughing all the time, he can hold his binky or bottle to his mouth ( can't hold the bottle UP but he understands his hands).

Challenges: Whenever he wakes up in his crib he gets scared.

Sleep:  He sleeps good, from 10pm to 2:30am then back sleep around 3am until 10am.

    Me

Weight Lost: I can now fit into Pre-pregnancy tops and jeans went down another size!

Milestones: Feeling healthy, going to zumba, walking more.

    I'll play too!

    Age: 2 months

    Weight: 10 lbs

Milestones: He's smiling and laughing! He can roll over onto his side now and can easily hold his head up. He's a strong little guy!

Challenges: He spends all day every day with me so when Dad comes home and wants to hold him he gets pissed off. Luckily my hubs is quitting his job soon so they'll have a lot more time together to bond.

Sleep: He'll sleep from 9/10-2 and then is up every two hours after that. We all sleep together in the big ole' family bed so it makes nighttime feedings so easy. I just roll him on over and can stay half-asleep!

Weight loss: I have ten more lbs to go before I'm at my original weight... we'll see how that goes.

Since I'm here, how about a 3.5 month update!

    Age: 14 weeks

    Weight: 12.5 lbs

Milestones: She's getting a tooth, and it's the wrong tooth, and it hurts!  She's also working on standing up (loves it) and core strength.  Not quite sitting yet, but very interested.  Eyes are changing color.  It's hard to tell if they are going to be green or brown or like my partner's (blue on the outside, brown on the inside).  The babbling at this point is adorable!

Challenges: Still on bottle strike!  We work with her every day.  She'll take about 0.5 oz from the MAM bottle but that's about it.  I go back to work in a week.  Yikes

Sleep:  The 3 month regression is upon us.  Momma, I'm hungry!  She's waking up at least once these days, but settles easily with some feeding.

    Me

Weight Lost: I started couch to 5K this week.  I still have 10 lbs to go.  Everyone says it's the breast feeding plateau, but I continue to fight.  Stomach muscles are starting to tighten up a little, so I'm calling it progress even if I haven't lost any more weight (well, 1 lb, but that hardly counts!)

Milestones: Going back to work full time next week.  Say a prayer for us, it's gonna be rough if she doesn't get with the bottle program right quick!Baby Updates : wedding IMG 0521

Ah, DG, Ceci is soooo cute!  I'm sad to hear about the continuing bottle ban, though.  :(  Poor baby and poor mama.

    AGE:  11 weeks, 1 day

    WEIGHT:  11 pounds, 6 ounces

MILESTONES:  Addie's favorite game is sticking her tongue out.  She will literally stop mid-cry and start giggling if I ask her "Where's Addie's tongue?"  She also talks up a storm; it's crazy!  She talks my ear off all day long!  Two weeks ago, Addie rolled over for the first time.  Now she does it on a consistent basis during tummy time.  Luckily, she's not rolling over in her sleep yet.  :)

CHALLENGES:  We're still working on the sleep screaming situation.  It hasn't happened the past two days since I've been putting her in her crib for naps and letting her sleep next to me (not in the co-sleeper) at night.  Hopefully, we've solved the problem!

SLEEP:  She normally sleeps really well, but the last few nights she's gotten up 3 times each night, which is kinda exhausting for me.  Of course, I'd much rather have her get up multiple times at night than deal with sleep screaming!

MY WEIGHT LOSS:  I actually went down to 5 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight 2 weeks after she was born, but I m working hard on toning up my new "mommy body."  It's an uphill battle, that's for sure.

MILESTONES:  We hired a nanny!  And she is a really sweet, patient, loving woman who I know will give Addie all of the love and attention she deserves!  If anyone is looking to hire a nanny, I'd be happy to share our process.

    My turn!

Since I'm here, how about a 3.5 month update!

    Age: 14+2

    Weight: 14lbs 14oz

Milestones: She has discovered her hair!  She touches it all the time, even when she's sleeping.  She's babbling and giggling.  No rolling over yet, but she sits up on her own and she even does "crunches" when she lays down.  (She tries to lift herself up, but it just looks like a crunch.)

Challenges: She refuses to be set down EVER.  MightyGroom was literally walking around the house all day in the LoveyDuds sling.  If he stands still or puts her down she screams.  Not sure how we're going to get over this!

Sleep:  We've begun to structure her sleep time now.  She wakes once in the wee hours of the early morning and takes three naps during the day.  We've never slept so good!

    Me

Weight Lost: I started Weight Watchers online two weeks ago.  I've lost 9 pounds, with only a diet change to credit!

Milestones: I went back to work at 9 weeks, and didn't do too bad.  I still hate to leave in the morning, and can't wait to get home.  But I've got the pumping at work thing down solid!  I'm also learning how to balance work with mothering and cleaning when I get home.  (That's going a little worse than I thought it would...)

And now for the gratuitous adorable baby shot:
