So my BMs were trying to throw a surprise bachelorette party, but accidentally let it slip that it was going to be tonight. Since I didn’t know about it until yesterday, I had no way to go buy a new outfit and I have nothing at home that makes me feel sexy and also fits me well! So bummed! I had a mini-meltdown last night and got FH bummed too because he hates when I get upset over having “no clothes,” so he’s forcing me to go clothes shopping before the bachelorette party today so I can (hopefully!!) find a great new outfit. Otherwise I’ll end up wearing my bridal shower dress and that will really bum me out, as all these ladies will have just seen me in it! Ugh.
This is one of those days that I loathe being plus size.
Any similar situations out there? I’d love some commiseration!

Shameless bump? Really would love to hear that I’m not the only one who feels like all the clothes in their closet seem to shrink or grow when there’s a big event!

@acciotoni: That’s so sweet that your girls are throwing you a (almost) surprise bachelorette party!
I was getting really, really frustrated when I was looking for a dress for mine. I went shopping with DH one night and left in tears. I went back the next day and found one in the first ten minutes of shopping! (thanks, H&M!) Just take a deep breath! You’ll look fabulous in whatever you wear

I can definitely relate to my clothes shrinking in my closet. I have a TON of clothes and often have NOTHING to wear. I often find at these times, my favorite items or go tos are In th dirty laundry. Maybe focus on buying a cute top to go with some trusty jeans and some fabulous accessories. Or do some extra glam make up. I’m sure yoy will look great!

It’s awesome that your girls are throwin you a surpise bach party! And you have a great excuse to buy an awesome new outfit. So get your butt to your favorite store and I’ sure you’ll find something! And I’m sure you’ll look awesome!

I am also plus size, however I don’t think your friends are really going to care and shame you for wearing the same dress twice. Who cares? Sure it is fun to get and wear new clothes but don’t stress out if you can’t find anything you like.

@Brideonabudgetlauren: @JenGirl: Yeah, I was super surprised, I’d actually completely forgotten about the possibility of a bachelorette party because the wedding is so close (next Saturday, holy balls!).
@blingybride: Yep, sounds like what happens to me! Haha. Actually, I found this pair of skinny slacks in the back of my closet that would look perfect with a pair of heels I have, but FH said they were too tight and there was a hole in the butt, dangit!! That’s when my mini-meltdown happened 😉 hahah.
@Sassygrn: Oh, I’m positive no one would care, but I would! I don’t get dressed up often, so having two events within a month of eachother that I wear the same dress to would make me feel off. I mean, I love that dress so if I end up wearing it I won’t feel ugly or something, but I’d definitely prefer to wear something different! 🙂

I like blingybride’s idea of dressing up a pair of your favorite jeans. You’ll feel comfortable and look good and since it’s a surprise, you really don’t know if a dress is necessary. Just relax and have fun.
I can totally relate, by the way. I found out about my bridal shower the night before and had the same meltdown about finding something that looked good that I could wear. I had to run out and get something that morning.

My closet is overflowing with clothes and yet every day I wind up wearing pretty much the same thing because I just hate how everything looks on me! How is it when I bought it it was a great idea and then when I wear it it seems too small and I feel selfconcious! Hope you find an amazing outfit! I like the idea someone had about cute top with jeans and then BLING it out! LOL! Have a great time and have fun!
