The weather will still be very nice, so you could look into renting a house on Follys Island, Kiawah Island, Isle of Palms, etc. If you want to go to the beach. Rates should be very reasonable. The historic district is a short drive in. If you want to stay in the historic district, the Meeting Place Inn is a classic, as is the Planters Inn. Keep in mind some of these buildings are over 200 years old, so rooms may be small. There are quite a few B&Bs as well. If you are looking for a more budget option, there is a nice Holiday Inn Express on Savannah Highway for about $100 a night. It is nicely remodeled and a quick ride into town. Other options would be the Spring Hill Suites on the river or the Marriott Courtyard on the river. Skip the Holiday Inn Riverview. When you are in the historic district, you really don't need a car, just reasonable walking shoes. Try Cru Cafe for dinner, tiny little place but great food. The coconut cake at the Peninsula Grill is famous because of Throwdown with Bobby Flay. It's good, but don't feel compelled. Have fun--such a beautiful city!
You will have so much fun!!! Charleston is amazing. (Not biased or anything
)
I second the beach idea. If you want something relaxing but cheap look into rental houses on Sullivan's Island too. I consider it a more "homey" beach. You could rent a limo one night and go to all the downtown bars (its an easy walk around) but a limo might be fun too!

hi bees!
i am from philly and am helping plan a relaxed bachelorette getaway for our friend next month in south carolina. the bride initially wanted to do a resorty thing at hilton head, but it's just not going to be practical for everyone (affordability at such short notice). thoughts or reccomendations on nice places (hotels, restaurants, etc) for us to have a girls weekend in charleston?
thanks for your help...we can certainly use it..since we're all from the northeast and chicago and i am totally out of my element.
cheers!
