My MOH asked whether I'd prefer to do a weekend trip to Fort Lauderdale, FL or Charleston, SC for my bachelorette party.  Both trips will be the same price and will be in mid-April.  I've never been to either location so any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!!

@jessabella: I live in Charleston so I'm biased. Haha. But I've never been to Fort Lauderdale, so I'm not sure how it is there. I love Charleston and the weather here is wonderful in April :)

Agree with FutureMrsChaney and you may have to travel outside of Ft. Lauderdale since there isn't a whole lot to do, imo. I've never been Charleston but have heard great things about it. I guess it depends what type of weekend you want so maybe a little bit of research would help you make a decision.

yeah it depends what kind of weekend you want... Charleston is gracious, historic, southern, and quaint. Lauderdale is a Florida beach town. Probably more suitable for the traditional bachelorette environment, i.e. partying, but if you're more laid back/ less into the party scene then I bet you'd enjoy Charleston a lot!

@starbuck: It is true that Charleston is suuuper historic, but there are definitely lots of party spots in Charleston too. And there are beach party towns pretty much surrounding Charleston. I think Charleston would be great for either the laid back girls' weekend or the party it up/bar scene type weekend. I feel like Charleston is a good mix of both.

Miami!  If you can go as far as Ft. Lauderdale, 45 more minutes gets you to Miami.

Or, you could do the Ft. Lauderdale trip and get a party bus into Miami for a night.

I've only been to Ft. Lauderdale on a family trip, but it doesn't seem that vivacious as far as bachelorette parties are concerned.
